The Food Service Manager position at the WRHA Nutrition & Food Services department, located within Grace Hospital, plays a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality food services to patients and residents. Reporting to the WRHA Nutrition & Food Services Regional Manager, this manager is responsible for managing all facets of meal service provision, leading a team of food service employees, students, and ensuring operational efficiency. The role requires strong leadership in supervising, training, evaluating staff, and managing schedules and payroll. In addition, the Food Service Manager oversees budgeting for food service operations and capital expenditures while ensuring compliance with all policies and quality standards. This individual is actively involved in continuous quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing service delivery and patient satisfaction. By applying leadership strategies and effective operational planning, the Food Service Manager contributes significantly to the overall patient care experience. The role also entails maintaining safety and health regulations, overseeing food safety practices, and ensuring that equipment is properly maintained and secured. Job Requirements
- minimum three years’ experience in food service operations with demonstrated management and purchasing/receiving skills
- baccalaureate degree with a major in food and nutrition or approved equivalent
- completion of an accredited dietetic internship program
- eligible for registration with related professional association
- valid certification from a recognized food handler's course

- demonstrated leadership abilities in a team environment
