Job Description

Minuteman Food Mart is a well-established company deeply rooted in family values, with over four generations of management dedicated to fostering personal and professional growth among its team members. Far more than just an oil company, convenience store, or restaurant, Minuteman Food Mart prides itself on being a family-oriented organization that prioritizes improving the lives of everyone it touches—customers, employees, and the broader communities it serves. With a workforce exceeding 1,000 team members, the company is committed to supporting its employees through comprehensive benefits, professional development, and a positive work environment focused on teamwork and respect.

Located in Jacksonville, NC, Minuteman Food Mart is currently seeking a Food Service Manager for its Little Caesars Express locations. This role is pivotal in maintaining the quality and consistency of foodservice operations across assigned Minuteman Food Mart locations. The Food Service Manager is primarily responsible for planning, implementing, and supporting all foodservice activities. This includes training the operations team, managing food and beverage programs, maintaining product quality, overseeing inventory control, and driving sales and marketing efforts to meet financial goals. Candidates must be prepared to work with an open schedule, as this is not a typical nine-to-five position; flexibility is essential to support the dynamic needs of the business.

This position also enforces operational guidelines established by Minuteman Food Mart to ensure each location operates efficiently and safely while delivering exceptional guest experiences. The Food Service Manager will work closely with district and store managers, providing guidance to meet financial objectives through budget analysis, developing action plans for underperforming stores, and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs). Additionally, this role is involved in supporting and enhancing commissary programs like Burney's Sweets Express and managing franchise food programs, ensuring adherence to brand standards, compliance with food safety regulations, and sustainability of foodservice quality.

The role requires excellent relationship-building skills to foster employee development, facilitate training opportunities, and support team growth at the store level. The foodservice manager will also act as a liaison with health departments and regulatory agencies, ensuring all stores meet federal and state regulations. Beyond daily operational tasks, the position involves project management related to store remodels, new builds, and technology upgrades, contributing to continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.

Minuteman Food Mart offers a family-first workplace atmosphere with benefits designed to support employees' diverse needs. These benefits include medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, a 401k plan with company matching, paid time off starting in the first year, and gym memberships. The company fosters a team-first environment with options for remote work in select roles, monthly team-building exercises, flexible schedules to accommodate family events, and everyday pay if needed. Employees have access to professional training and advancement opportunities, including specialized managership training.

Working at Minuteman Food Mart means joining a company that values integrity, respect, and effective communication at all organizational levels. Ideal candidates for the Food Service Manager role are detail-oriented, able to stand for long periods, and capable of lifting up to 50 pounds. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word, and Excel is essential. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, strategic thinking, and a commitment to operational excellence. This dynamic role requires someone who is self-motivated, adaptable to change, and passionate about leading and developing teams to meet and exceed company goals.
