Job Description
Sodexo is a leading global food services and facilities management company dedicated to enhancing quality of life and contributing to economic, social, and environmental progress within the communities they serve. Operating worldwide, Sodexo partners with clients to deliver exceptional catering, food service, and integrated facility management solutions. With a commitment to diversity, inclusion, and equal employment opportunities, Sodexo fosters an environment where all employees can thrive, be themselves, and have their ideas and opinions valued. The company is recognized not only for its comprehensive services but also for its emphasis on building a better everyday for everyone and creating meaningful, memorable experiences for customers and employees alike.
The Food Safety Manager role at Sodexo is a pivotal position designed for a proactive and technically skilled professional who will lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of food safety programs throughout a large, fast-paced campus environment. This role requires a balanced blend of technical food safety knowledge, risk mitigation expertise, and strong leadership abilities to ensure compliance with all regulatory and brand standards. The Food Safety Manager will act as a champion for a culture of safety across various culinary operations, including kitchens, cafés, production areas, and service points, ensuring the highest levels of safety, sanitation, and operational excellence.
This position involves extensive collaboration with culinary and operational teams to deliver safe and high-quality food experiences at scale. The Food Safety Manager is responsible for ensuring adherence to FDA Food Code, HACCP principles, and local health department regulations, performing safety audits to detect risks and enforce corrective actions, and investigating incidents such as foodborne illness claims and contamination events. The manager will also develop and facilitate engaging training programs focused on sanitation, allergen management, HACCP, and safe food handling practices to promote continuous education and behavioral improvements within the culinary team.
In addition to risk management and compliance, the role supports operational readiness by integrating safety protocols into menu rollouts, equipment onboarding, and process changes, ensuring safety is embedded into everyday workflows. Monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs), audit scores, temperature logs, and compliance trends is a crucial part of the role, enabling the Food Safety Manager to provide insightful data analysis and present findings to leadership teams to drive informed decisions. Compensation in this role is fair and equitable, with salary offers tailored based on experience, skills, education, and training. Sodexo offers a comprehensive benefits package designed to support employee wellbeing and career growth, including medical, dental and vision care, 401(k) plan with matching contributions, paid time off, holidays, and tuition reimbursement.
This role is ideal for experienced food safety professionals who bring strong expertise in HACCP, FDA Food Code compliance, auditing, incident investigation, and training delivery, along with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally. Working at Sodexo means becoming part of a company that values diversity, innovation, and personal growth while making a positive impact on the communities it serves. The Food Safety Manager will play a crucial role in shaping systems, behaviors, and a culture that protects employees and elevates the culinary experience in a dynamic, high-growth environment.
