This powerhouse collective redefines luxury shopping by offering personalized customer experiences across an extensive network of physical stores and innovative e-commerce platforms. Saks Global's mission is fueled by strong partnerships with the most esteemed brands worldwide, cutting-edge technology, and the industry's most comprehensive luxury customer data. This cutting-edge approach shapes the future of retail and positions Saks Global as an industry leader in luxury consumer engagement.
At the heart of Saks Global Restaurants, the Executive Chef / Manager role is pivotal in driving culinary excellence. This position merges culinary artistry with operational expertise, requiring a visionary leader who can inspire and lead an elite back-of-house team. The Executive Chef / Manager ensures the highest standards of food quality and hospitality, delivering exceptional guest experiences consistently. This role carries the responsibility of overseeing daily kitchen operations including high-profile catering and special events, alongside strict fiscal management that covers inventory control and food cost optimization. Serving in this capacity means championing overall restaurant excellence in a fast-paced, luxury retail environment located in New York, NY, with an onsite work arrangement.
The salary range for this position is competitive, set between $78,007 and $97,509, reflecting the specialized skills and experience required. Ideal candidates should possess 4 to 6 years of progressive culinary and restaurant management experience, preferably within premium, fine-dining, or luxury high-volume settings. A culinary arts degree or a related four-year degree is favored. This role demands a proven leadership track record, showcasing the ability to motivate, coach, and manage diverse teams toward both operational and creative success.
The Executive Chef / Manager is also expected to exhibit strong business and financial acumen, proficiently handling profit and loss reports, food cost analyses, and budget forecasts. Effective communication and interpersonal skills are critical, enabling seamless interactions across all organizational levels, including conflict resolution and team coaching. Professionalism in hospitality excellence is paramount, with attention to the high-end order of service, precise table setting standards, and delivering exceptional customer service.
Physical demands of the role include stamina for extended periods of standing, bending, climbing stairs, and working in high-temperature kitchens, with the ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds. Flexibility in scheduling is essential, as the role requires availability during evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet the operational needs of a luxury retail and hospitality business.
Saks Global offers an attractive work environment characterized by growth, transformation, and opportunities across various facets of the company—from retail and distribution to digital and corporate. Employees benefit from a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) retirement plans, life and disability insurance options, and unique employee discounts, fostering a rewarding career and lifestyle balance.
Joining Saks Global means becoming part of an inclusive, diverse workplace committed to excellence and innovation in the luxury retail sector. The company is proud to be an equal opportunity employer, dedicated to providing an environment where all employees can thrive and succeed.
