Kansas City Current is a pioneering women's professional soccer team based in Kansas City, Missouri, renowned for their commitment to excellence both on and off the field. Adjacent to the CPKC Stadium is Current Landing, a vibrant entertainment district developed to enhance the stadium experience year-round. This dynamic area hosts a variety of public and private events, fan-focused experiences, and community programming designed to engage and entertain diverse audiences. The Current Landing district serves as a hub for community interaction and a catalyst for economic and social activity in the region.
The role of Manager, Events at Kansas City Current is a critical position responsible for the seamless planning, coordination, and execution of all events within the Current Landing district. This full-time position offers competitive compensation aligned with industry standards for event management professionals. The Manager will play a pivotal role in working closely with senior leadership including the Director of Event Management, VP of Venue Programming, and the venue sales staff to ensure that every event aligns with the organization’s high standards and delivers exceptional guest experiences.
This position requires a hands-on approach, serving as the operational liaison among various stakeholders such as clients, stadium departments, district tenants, and external operational partners. The Manager is tasked with ensuring smooth collaboration and communication to facilitate flawless event execution. A key aspect of the job is coordinating with Current Landing restaurants and local stakeholders to manage fan flow, security screening, and other operational logistics that support both standalone district events and those that coincide with CPKC Stadium activities.
Moreover, the Manager will occasionally support events within the CPKC Stadium when programming intersects with activities in the Current Landing district, demanding a flexible and adaptive event management skill set. This role is not only about managing events but also about enhancing the overall fan experience by ensuring operational excellence and real-time problem-solving during events.

Job Requirements
- 2-4 years of experience in event operations venue operations hospitality or event management
- Experience supporting or executing live entertainment and large-scale events including concerts festivals conferences or other public-facing events
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced event-driven environment
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with both internal and external stakeholders
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt quickly to changing event needs
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights weekends holidays and event days
- Ability to work outdoors and across multiple locations within the district
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking long distances
- Must be able to lift to 25-30 pounds at a time
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Event Management Hospitality Business or a related field preferred
- Experience working in concert venues stadiums entertainment districts or multi-use event spaces preferred
- Experience coordinating with vendors restaurants tenant partners or third-party promoters preferred
- Familiarity with event logistics including crowd management security coordination and event production elements preferred
- 2-4 years of experience in event operations venue operations hospitality or event management required
- Experience supporting or executing live entertainment and large-scale events including concerts festivals conferences or other public-facing events required
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail required
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced event-driven environment required
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with both internal and external stakeholders required
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt quickly to changing event needs required
Job Duties
- Manage planning and execution for all events hosted within Current Landing including private events public activations fan experiences and community programming
- Serve as a primary operational contact for events booked by the VP of Venue Programming and venue sales teams
- Work directly with clients to determine event logistics operational needs timelines and execution plans
- Develop event outlines run-of-show timelines and operational plans for assigned events
- Coordinate staffing assignments and operational needs for event day execution with internal departments including security guest services parking ticketing marketing and food and beverage
- Collaborate with Current Landing restaurants and district partners to align operational plans guest flow and event activations
- Coordinate security screening locations access control and pedestrian flow throughout the district during events
- Act as the on-site event lead for Current Landing events ensuring successful execution and real-time problem solving
- Monitor service levels and guest experience throughout the event footprint
- Ensure all events are executed in alignment with organizational standards and contractual requirements
- Support CPKC Stadium events when district operations overlap with stadium programming
- Coordinate operational plans between stadium and district stakeholders to ensure seamless guest movement between venues
- Assist with ancillary matchday activations and fan experience elements within Current Landing
- Maintain detailed event files and documentation for assigned events
- Communicate event details and operational plans to relevant departments and partners
- Assist in preparing event estimates and tracking event-related expenses
- Prepare post-event summaries and provide recommendations for operational improvements
