The Hill is currently seeking a Manager, Event Production Temporary to play a pivotal role in managing the end-to-end logistical and technical execution of its expanding portfolio of high-profile events. This position reports directly to the Vice President of Events and is instrumental in ensuring seamless event production, from initial planning stages to execution and post-event follow-up. The ideal candidate will be a highly organized project manager with robust experience in audio/visual production, budget management, and effective communication with diverse stakeholders.

In this role, the Manager, Event Production Temporary will oversee venue and vendor procurement and management, including conducting site surveys, evaluating proposals, coordinating contracts, and handling payments. The manager will lead pre-production activities by organizing regular planning meetings, documenting details, managing schedules for load-in and load-out, and creating essential production documentation for crews and graphics teams involved in the event. As the show runner on-site, the Manager will direct the event crew, coordinate with various personnel to deliver a flawless and engaging experience for audiences, clients, and speakers. Collaboration with internal teams is key for creating show opens and managing multimedia elements such as sound and video clips.

Post-production responsibilities include overseeing asset creation, distribution, and delivery, ensuring alignment with internal teams and external partners. The position demands someone who can thrive in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously. Compensation for this role ranges from $45 to $50 hourly, depending on experience, and the company offers a comprehensive benefits package to full-time employees including medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, a 401(k) with matching contributions, paid parental leave, and life insurance. Part-time employees receive access to the 401(k) plan and applicable local and state leave programs. Union positions are covered under their respective Collective Bargaining Agreements.

Job Requirements

  • Experience in event production live broadcast or technical project management
  • Proficiency with livestreaming platforms event CMS and design tools
  • Strong budget management skills
  • Ability to communicate technical production needs to non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Job Qualifications

  • 5+ years in event production live broadcast or technical project management
  • Proficiency with livestreaming platforms such as TVU and Restream event CMS such as SplashThat and design tools such as Canva
  • Previous editing experience is a plus
  • Strong experience in budget management
  • Exceptional ability to translate technical production needs to non-technical stakeholders and clients
  • Proven track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment

Job Duties

  • Manage the full lifecycle of venue and vendor relations from site surveys and proposals to contracts and payments
  • Lead pre-production by running regular meetings documenting details managing load-in/out schedules and creating essential production documents for on-site crew and program graphics
  • Manage on-site production as a show runner directing the crew and coordinating event personnel for a seamless event experience
  • Collaborate with internal teams to create show opens and pull sound and video clips as required
  • Oversee post-production of assets distribution and delivery with internal and external stakeholders
