The Event Production Manager role at Sphere Entertainment Co. is a critical leadership position responsible for the successful advancement and execution of a variety of live events, including concerts, special entertainment productions, internally produced events and experiences, and sporting events. This role demands expertise in managing operational execution and requires acting as a liaison between Sphere production teams, venue departments, Sphere Studios, partners, and stakeholders to enhance operational efficiency through effective communication and collaboration. The Event Production Manager will be responsible for creating and maintaining operational budgets and event information sheets for assigned events. This includes overseeing the event planning process from initial advancement to on-site load-in and load-out, ensuring seamless coordination at every stage.
This role requires not only exceptional organizational skills but also the technical knowledge to instruct and oversee technical teams regarding lighting, special effects, stage design, and troubleshooting during rehearsals and performances. The manager will be the point of contact for event operations, coordinating with vendors and third-party partners on logistical details such as staffing, onboarding, parking, and supply management to ensure smooth event activations. Accountability includes producing AutoCAD drawings for seating maps and working with external agencies to uphold compliance with work rules, safety codes, and union regulations. The position demands a high level of problem-solving ability, the capacity to manage multiple operational and financial tasks simultaneously, and strong interpersonal skills to foster positive, professional relationships with a diverse group of collaborators.
This is an onsite full-time role with a pay range of $96,000 to $120,000 USD. Job Requirements
- 5-7 years working experience in live event production management
- Technical knowledge of rigging and engineering review
- Knowledge of general building codes and fire safety
- Ability to manage multiple operational and financial tasks
- Experience supervising Union and Non-Union crews
- Experience creating and maintaining event budgets
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Problem-solving and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Ability to resolve conflicts timely
- Computer skills in MS Office
- Proficiency in AutoCAD drafting
- Flexible schedule including weekends, nights and holidays
- Willingness to travel
