Located in Amarillo, TX, the Distribution Manager role is a key leadership position within the Airgas Fill Plant, responsible for maximizing the safe, efficient, and effective distribution of products across a designated territory. This role includes comprehensive management of a team of CDL drivers and delivery operations involving inter-company shuttles, trailer, and bulk deliveries. The Distribution Manager oversees delivery order management, shipment routing, fleet maintenance, compliance, training, and overall driving team performance to ensure customer satisfaction and operational excellence.
This position offers an annual salary range of $60,000 to $65,000 depending on experience and is structured as a full-time role with a Monday through Friday work schedule starting at 7 am. The Distribution Manager is integral to maintaining compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, including proper documentation, vehicle inspections, hours of service logs, and manifests. This position demands strong leadership and communication skills to support, supervise, and coordinate the activities of CDL drivers, ensuring safe work habits, route efficiency, and completion of delivery schedules. It also involves collaborating closely with sales teams to ensure alignment and effective customer service.

Job Requirements
- high school diploma or GED
- 3 to 5 years experience routing deliveries and supervising CDL drivers
- knowledge of shipping hazardous materials within DOT and FDA requirements
- self-starter and self-motivated

- leadership experience in a distribution environment
- strong knowledge of FMCSA and CDL/DOT regulations
- ability to regularly lift 60 pounds or move more than 125 pounds with material handling equipment

Job Duties
- directly support and guide drivers providing collaborative guidance regarding safe work habits
- manage availability of drivers and equipment including all vehicle maintenance requirements to meet distribution and customer needs
- maintain all required DOT inspection reports manifests verify and release tickets and additional documentation
- advance continuous improvement in daily distribution operations
- review and process daily all DOT documentation vehicle condition reports drivers hours of service route efficiency and completion
- submit all required DOT paperwork including hours of service logs manifests VIRs and additional reports accurately and timely
- prepare load sheets delivery tickets and manifests ensuring loads are accurate and complete
- serve as a liaison between distribution and sales to build alignment
- plan deliveries by organizing truck loads and routing schedules and coordinate work schedules and procedures to meet delivery schedules
