USAA is currently seeking a dedicated Manager of Claims Operations for Property to join their team in Tampa, FL, at the Crosstown Campus. This role is primarily responsible for managing auto, property, and other claims operations and the employees who deliver exceptional member service by investigating, evaluating, and negotiating claims. The Manager will foster a highly engaged team through regular coaching and feedback to consistently deliver strong business results. A critical part of this role involves executing process improvements, providing constructive feedback, leading organizational changes, and ensuring operational risk management and regulatory compliance are maintained effectively. The position offers a flexible work environment with an expectation to be onsite four days per week. While relocation assistance is not available, candidates located locally or willing to commute are encouraged to apply. The salary range for this position is $108,480 to $207,320, reflecting the experience and market data specific to the location. Furthermore, employees in this role may be eligible for performance-based pay incentives as determined by the USAA Board of Directors.
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience, with a minimum of six years of progressive experience in customer service, operations, military service, or leadership, including at least two years of claims handling and team management experience. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated competency in leadership, customer service, and claims handling, along with the ability to use data to inform decisions. Acquisition and maintenance of applicable insurance adjuster licenses within six months of employment is required. Additional preferred qualifications include prior experience handling moderate severity Homeowners or Dwelling claims, knowledge of property claims contracts, water loss claims experience, residential construction knowledge, and familiarity with claims software such as Xactimate, XactAnalysis, and XactContents. Professional insurance designations such as CPCU are also valued.

Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and/or experience
- Minimum six years of progressive customer service, operational, military or leadership experience
- At least two years of claims handling experience
- Two years of team lead, supervisory or management experience
- Ability to acquire and maintain insurance adjuster license within six months
- Strong leadership and customer service skills
- Ability to analyze and interpret data
- Must be able to work in Tampa, FL Crosstown Campus at least four days per week

Job Qualifications

- Preferred five years of property claims experience handling moderate severity Homeowners or Dwelling claims
- Prior L4A participant experience
- Existing Manager Claims Operations experience
- Experience handling water loss claims
- Knowledge of property claims contracts and case law interpretation
- Residential construction experience
- Familiarity with Xactimate, XactAnalysis and XactContents
- CPCU or other insurance industry designation
Job Duties
- Inspect and review quality of claim files and provide feedback to employees as appropriate
- Be responsible for ongoing coaching and driving awareness so employees understand how their work and contributions support the overall claims and Enterprise strategies
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve operational effectiveness, member experiences and processes providing feedback to internal partners
- Create conditions for success removes obstacles, leads and champions change
- Achieve optimal productivity through managing workload volumes, staffing, training needs, and identifying and implementing appropriate solutions
- Be responsible for ongoing monitoring of work to ensure consistent execution of processes and adherence to guidelines and frameworks
- Handle escalations and make appropriate decisions based on the policy
- Facilitate and guide employees through skill identification and developing for career progression
- Supports projects by serving as a subject matter expert
- Hire, develop, and coach claims employees for results delivery
- Consistently coach employees on claims handling and identify opportunities to improve overall process and engagement
- Ensure risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures
