This leadership role requires a strategic thinker who can guide supervisors and crews efficiently through complex operational challenges while ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and company policies.
The salary for this role ranges from $115,000 to $150,000 annually, reflecting the high level of responsibility and expertise required. This management position includes responsibilities such as guiding terminal and hangar supervisors, dispatching crews, implementing organizational plans and policies, collaborating with cross-functional teams, resolving operational issues, and maintaining strong relationships with regulatory bodies and airport authorities. The manager also plays a pivotal role in workforce management, including union and non-union teams, coaching managerial staff, driving performance towards key operational goals, and developing succession plans for critical positions.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in aircraft maintenance operations, with supervisory experience in multi-shift environments managing mid to large-size workgroups. They must possess the ability to obtain airport security credentials, pass FAA criminal background checks, and be adept at managing complex logistical and human resource challenges. Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the capacity to handle multiple responsibilities concurrently.
American Airlines encourages employees to take full advantage of comprehensive benefits such as travel perks for themselves and their families, immediate access to health, dental, vision, and prescription coverage from day one, wellness programs designed to promote overall health, and participation in the 401(k) retirement program with potential employer contributions. Additional perks include an Employee Assistance Program, pet insurance, and discounts on travel-related expenses.
