At the heart of Sushiko's philosophy is the belief that Japanese cuisine is an art form defined by precision, simplicity, and a profound respect for the craft rather than just the ingredients used. Executive Chef Piter Tjan leads the culinary team with a passion for reimagining classic dishes with new flavors and presentation styles, creating a dynamic menu that appeals to both traditionalists and adventurous diners alike. As part of the acclaimed Sushiko team, employees contribute to a collaborative atmosphere aiming to secure the restaurant's first Michelin star, marking it as a leader in the fine dining scene.
The role open at Sushiko Chevy Chase is for a full-time management professional who possesses a keen understanding of high-volume, upscale restaurant operations. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in maintaining and elevating the exceptional service standards that Sushiko is known for. This position requires an individual who is not only passionate about delivering world-class hospitality but is also a confident leader capable of guiding and motivating a diverse team. The manager will be physically present during service hours, ensuring that every guest experience is seamless and memorable, aligning with the restaurant's commitment to excellence.
Working at Sushiko involves being part of a forward-thinking team where innovation meets tradition. The manager will oversee staff training, guest interaction, and daily operational duties to optimize customer satisfaction and efficiency. With a competitive salary starting from $60,000 per year, the role offers stability and growth within a respected establishment known for its culinary excellence. Additional benefits such as employee discounts, health insurance, and paid time off contribute to a rewarding and supportive work environment. The position demands strong organizational skills, multitasking ability, and excellent communication across departments to coordinate efforts smoothly and resolve challenges proactively. Candidates must have open availability and the physical stamina to meet the demands of a fast-paced and dynamic culinary setting, including prolonged periods of standing and the capacity for light lifting.
