The role of the Assistant Manager at Burger King is pivotal in ensuring the smooth and efficient day-to-day operation of a single restaurant. Reporting directly to the Restaurant General Manager, the Assistant Manager plays a key leadership role in managing financial controls, operational processes, and people development to meet and exceed business objectives. This position is designed for a hands-on leader who can balance guest satisfaction with operational excellence. The Assistant Manager supports the General Manager by helping to deliver increased sales, profitability, and employee retention, while ensuring compliance with all legal, safety, and company standards. This role requires flexibility with work hours, including the capability to work long, irregular, and extra shifts as needed to maintain operational standards. The Assistant Manager is also entrusted with full accountability for restaurant operations in the absence of the General Manager, making this a vital position for leadership succession within the restaurant team.

In this role, the Assistant Manager will inspire and motivate team members and Shift Supervisors to provide excellent service in a clean, efficient environment. The responsibilities encompass supervising training, managing inventory and labor, controlling costs, and implementing marketing initiatives. The Assistant Manager must be adept at problem-solving, action planning, and adhering to compliance guidelines such as food safety and employment laws. Additionally, this role requires active participation in recruiting, hiring, training, and retaining staff, contributing to a positive and productive workplace culture. Effective communication, interpersonal skills, and a professional appearance are essential to foster team collaboration and ensure guest satisfaction. This position also demands physical endurance due to the active nature of the work, including standing for extended periods and performing various physical tasks. Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Valid driver's license
  • Has an automobile with required insurance coverage available for company use
  • High school diploma or GED required, some college preferred
  • Complete all internal certification programs
  • 1 year of experience working in the quick service restaurant industry

Job Duties

  • Direct efficient and accurate preparation and sale of products for prompt delivery within established speed of service guidelines
  • Motivate and direct team members and Shift Supervisors to exceed Guest expectations with fast and friendly service in clean surroundings
  • Supervise and train team members and Shift Supervisors on team stations, BKC products, processes and policies
  • Follow cash control/security procedures and help to implement marketing plans, maintain inventory, manage labor, and apply financial reports across shifts to enhance restaurant results
  • Assist RGM in enforcing compliance with government regulations, BK Market Policy, employment law, food safety, BK Security Policy, operations, and BK policies and procedures relating to all restaurant activities across shifts
  • Recruit, hire, train and work to retain effective team talent by making decisions or recommendations on hiring and advancement
  • Make decisions or recommendations on the discipline and terminations of team members
  • Available to work evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Prompt and regular attendance for assigned shifts, meetings and training
  • Make guests feel special
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the General Manager, District Manager, Officer or Director of the Company
