Job Description
Tolon is a celebrated dining destination located in the heart of downtown Fort Wayne, renowned as the city’s first farm-to-table restaurant. Founded by Chef Matthew and his wife Nicky, Tolon embodies a deep appreciation for the finest quality ingredients sourced directly from local farms, distillers, and brewers. This chef-driven and chef-operated establishment takes pride in crafting an elevated, yet approachable dining experience that stays true to the seasonality of the region’s produce. With an ever-evolving menu that reflects the best of each growing season, Tolon offers guests a memorable and unique experience in a warm and inviting atmosphere that feels like a comfortable "second" home. Unlike traditional fine dining, Tolon balances sophistication with a relaxed vibe by eschewing the white tablecloth, allowing diners to enjoy an exceptional culinary journey in a setting that is both elegant and unpretentious.
The opportunity to join Tolon as a Front of House Manager invites a dynamic hospitality professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-standard environment where people and service are paramount. The Front of House Manager acts as a vital bridge between the kitchen and guests, ensuring that every aspect of the dining experience aligns with Tolon’s exceptional standards. This role requires a hands-on leader who is equally adept at managing operational details, supporting a diverse front of house team, and fostering an engaging and positive work culture. Responsibilities include collaborating closely with servers, bartenders, hosts, and food runners to maintain smooth and efficient service flow, greeting guests with heartfelt warmth, managing the table turns and pacing to maximize satisfaction, and addressing guest feedback with professionalism and grace. The Manager also plays a crucial role in coaching and mentoring FOH staff, driving team morale, and reinforcing Tolon’s culture of excellence, respect, and fun.
Candidates looking to succeed in this role should embody a genuine passion for hospitality, possess strong leadership skills grounded in integrity and humor, and have the flexibility to wear multiple hats as needed to ensure seamless operations. Tolon offers a competitive pay structure based on experience, along with dining discounts and the opportunity to be part of a close-knit team that values collaboration and local culinary heritage. If you are excited about contributing to a top-tier dining establishment that champions farm-to-table philosophies and values its people as much as its food, Tolon invites you to apply and become a key player in the future of Fort Wayne’s vibrant restaurant scene.
