The role of Cafe Manager at Panera Bread is crucial to the success of each bakery-cafe. Managers are responsible for leading their teams to create extraordinary experiences for both customers and associates. This full-time position, with an annual compensation range of $51,000 to $70,000, involves developing team members, managing shift performance, and cultivating a culture built on warmth, belonging, growth, and trust. The Cafe Manager acts as a role model of Panera’s guiding values, including showing warmth to guests by making people smile, embracing bold thoughts and brave actions by taking risks and growing, taking ownership by finding solutions and initiative, working as a team to win together, inspiring celebration through fun and acknowledgment of success, and maintaining respect by seeing the best in others.

Managers work closely with the General Manager or District Manager and are expected to handle the fast-paced, dynamic nature of the hospitality industry. The position requires flexibility to work nights, weekends, and varied shifts. Cafe Managers also maintain a strong focus on health and food safety compliance, including obtaining or maintaining a Food Safety Manager ServSafe certification. The environment is energetic and demanding but rewarding, offering an opportunity to lead a motivated team that values hard work, laughter, and personal development. If you have proven leadership skills, can direct and coach others effectively, and enjoy fostering a community-oriented, customer-focused workplace, this role provides the platform to impact your bakery-cafe, customers, and local community positively. Joining Panera means becoming part of a company that starts each day with fresh baked bread and a commitment to limitless possibilities.
