Job Description

We are a leading company in the transportation and logistics sector, dedicated to providing efficient and reliable transportation solutions to meet the demands of modern commerce. Our organization focuses on delivering value through excellence in cross-dock operations, customer service, and innovative logistics management. We pride ourselves on fostering a collaborative and dynamic work environment where personal and professional growth is supported through comprehensive training and mentorship.

As a Management Trainee, you will embark on a transformative journey through our Operations Management Trainee Program, designed specifically for individuals seeking an entry point into leadership roles within the transportation industry. This intensive 16-week training initiative combines practical hands-on experience with guided study, aiming to equip you with the foundational knowledge and skills needed to excel in supervisory capacities. Supported by a dedicated mentor, you will gain a deep understanding of the transportation business, mastering the essential principles of efficient cross-dock operations, leadership communication, and relationship-building techniques. This program not only enhances your operational expertise but also cultivates your ability to lead teams effectively and ensure seamless logistics processes. Upon successful completion of the program, you will be placed in your first leadership position within our operations division, which may require relocation to another company facility. This role offers a unique opportunity to grow within an industry that is vital to the global economy and to develop broad management competencies that are highly valued across many sectors.

During your training, you will engage with various departments such as Support Center and Service Center teams, gaining insights into the collaborative efforts required to maintain smooth operations. You will accompany Account Managers on customer sales visits to observe client engagement and sales strategies first-hand, enhancing your understanding of customer relations and service delivery. Additionally, you will shadow delivery drivers on local routes occasionally to appreciate the end-to-end freight delivery process and the critical role played by logistics personnel in meeting delivery commitments. This blend of classroom learning, mentorship, and practical exposure is structured to create well-rounded operations leaders capable of driving efficiency and excellence.

This position operates on the second shift, offering a dynamic and engaging work schedule that suits those who thrive in fast-paced environments. The average annual starting pay ranges from $50,000 to $60,000, varying by location, candidate experience, and qualifications. We seek candidates who are adaptable, eager to learn, and ready to embrace the challenges and rewards of a transportation leadership role. If you are passionate about logistics, eager to develop leadership skills, and committed to a career in operations management, this trainee program offers the ideal platform to launch your professional journey.
