Job Description

The company offering the Management Trainee position is a dynamic organization operating within the transportation industry, focused on providing efficient and reliable freight and logistics services. Known for its commitment to operational excellence and customer satisfaction, this company invests heavily in the training and development of its employees, particularly those entering leadership roles. Through its comprehensive training programs and supportive mentorship, it has established itself as a leading employer for aspiring professionals seeking to build a career in transportation management.

As a Management Trainee, you will be an essential participant in the company’s Operations Management Trainee Program. This entry-level role involves a rigorous 16-week intensive training designed to equip you with the fundamental skills and knowledge necessary for effective leadership and supervisory responsibilities within operations. The training program encompasses a variety of learning methods, including independent study, mentorship, and practical exposure in key areas such as transportation principles, cross-dock operations, leadership communication, and relationship building. The program is crafted to immerse you fully in the operational environment to prepare you for future leadership positions.

During your training period, you will be under the guidance of an experienced mentor who will support your learning journey. You will engage regularly with Support Center and Service Center associates to understand the day-to-day operations, building a solid foundation in operational procedures. Additionally, you will accompany an Account Manager on customer sales calls to gain insights into client relationship management and sales processes. There will be opportunities to spend time with drivers on local delivery routes, providing you with a hands-on understanding of freight delivery logistics and challenges.

Upon successful completion of the trainee program, you are expected to relocate to another facility where you will assume your first leadership role in operations. The program therefore not only prepares you for managerial responsibilities but also builds flexibility and adaptability by requiring relocation. This role offers a competitive starting salary in the range of $50,000 to $60,000 annually and operates on the third work shift.

This Management Trainee position is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates with a Bachelor’s Degree in Transportation or Logistics, or candidates possessing equivalent related professional experience. The company values candidates who demonstrate strong communication skills, a professional demeanor, and an unwavering work ethic. Basic computer proficiency is necessary, and candidates must maintain an acceptable driving history that aligns with company standards. The role is well-suited for individuals who are eager to develop their careers in a fast-paced and demanding environment where leadership and operational excellence are highly prized.
