Job Description
AMLI is a prominent leader in the luxury apartment community sector, known for its commitment to sustainable living and excellence in property management. This company manages multiple properties certified under LEED and ENERGY STAR programs, ensuring that residents enjoy eco-friendly and energy-efficient homes. With a strong emphasis on training and career growth, AMLI offers one of the top maintenance training programs in the industry, providing employees with opportunities to advance into roles such as Maintenance Technician and Maintenance Supervisor.
This particular job opening is for a Make Ready Technician / Apartment Maintenance position located primarily at AMLI Lakeline in the Austin region, with responsibilities extending to nearby Austin communities. The role is critical in maintaining the high standards of apartment readiness for new resident move-ins. The position is full-time with an expected 40-hour workweek and offers competitive pay starting from $22.00 per hour.
The Make Ready Technician plays an essential hands-on role that involves preparing apartments for move-in readiness by performing a variety of maintenance repairs and unit turnover tasks. This includes drywall repair, interior painting, basic electrical troubleshooting, plumbing repairs, appliance troubleshooting, and minor carpentry and finish work. The technician is also responsible for repairing or replacing doors, windows, blinds, ceiling fans, lighting fixtures, and hardware. Beyond the apartment interiors, the role assists with groundskeeping, property maintenance, and enhancing curb appeal to ensure that the community remains inviting and well-maintained.
Ideal candidates possess strong handyman skills, especially in painting, drywall, plumbing, and basic electrical work. While HVAC certification (EPA) is considered a plus, it is not mandatory. The position also requires the ability to efficiently complete work orders and unit turns, maintain reliable transportation for on-call rotation, and the physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform manual maintenance tasks. Attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work well within a team environment are key characteristics of successful candidates.
AMLI also demonstrates a commitment to equality and inclusivity in the workplace, celebrating diversity and fostering an inclusive environment for all employees. Additionally, the company employs artificial intelligence in recruitment and employment activities, strictly adhering to laws that prevent discrimination, ensuring fairness across all hiring and employment practices.
The role offers a robust benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with company match, paid time off including holidays, tuition reimbursement, career advancement opportunities, life and disability insurance, as well as parental leave. Employees also benefit from apartment rent discounts, employee assistance programs, flexible spending accounts, employee discounts, and referral programs. This comprehensive benefits offering supports the overall well-being and growth of the employee, making this position appealing to maintenance professionals looking to build a stable and rewarding career in property management.
