The Service Technician position at Greystar is a vital role that involves performing technical and mechanical work to ensure the physical integrity and aesthetic appeal of residential properties meet the company’s high standards. This role is crucial for maintaining buildings, grounds, amenities, and common areas, ensuring cleanliness, safety, and overall functionality for residents and visitors alike. Service Technicians are responsible for completing work orders derived from resident service requests and preventive maintenance activities, diagnosing issues, and performing necessary repairs in compliance with safety protocols, company policies, and applicable code requirements. The role involves preparing vacant apartment homes for new residents by conducting inspections, creating maintenance task lists, coordinating with vendors, securing supplies, and ensuring all work is completed satisfactorily. Additionally, the position entails maintaining inventory controls for materials and supplies, documenting maintenance work accurately, supporting cost-saving initiatives by repairing rather than replacing parts where feasible, and assisting in cleaning and upkeep of common areas. Service Technicians must also comply with Greystar’s safety and risk management policies, participate in routine safety meetings and required OSHA training, and report incidents promptly. Occasional responsibilities may include inspecting contracted work to verify compliance with quality standards and conducting property inspections to identify maintenance needs. This physically demanding role requires the ability to work in various weather conditions, handle moderate physical exertion, and maintain flexibility with work hours, including availability for on-call duties during evenings, weekends, and holidays. The position requires holding EPA certifications for refrigerant recycling and any additional certifications mandated by local regulations. The hourly pay range for this role is $24.00 to $29.00, with eligibility for quarterly, monthly, or annual bonus programs depending on the position and location.
