As one of the largest U.S. suppliers of ammonia products and process chemicals, Airgas is recognized for its commitment to safety, sustainability, customer success, and technological innovation. With a workforce of approximately 18,000 dedicated associates, Airgas fosters a collaborative, inclusive, and dynamic workplace culture that encourages every employee to contribute ideas, exhibit initiative, and make impactful decisions. This culture is further strengthened by Air Liquide's global presence, operating in 60 countries with around 66,500 employees, serving more than 4 million customers and patients worldwide. Airgas operates seven dry ice facilities, one of which is located in Santa Fe Springs, CA, specializing in dry-ice logistics and production.
The Maintenance Technician role at Airgas is an essential position, responsible for maintaining the smooth and safe operation of specialized production equipment at our Dry Ice facility. This second-shift position offers a work schedule from Monday to Friday, 4 pm to 12:30 am, and a competitive starting pay of $39.50 per hour. Employees in this role are also eligible for a comprehensive benefits package that supports many aspects of life, including medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D, and disability insurance, alongside family support benefits such as a 14-week paid childbirth leave. The facility demands a hands-on, technically adept professional who can perform repairs, preventive maintenance, inspections, and operational support to ensure uninterrupted production and adherence to safety and quality standards.
As a Maintenance Technician, you will be actively engaged in performing repairs and installations of production machinery, completing routine preventive maintenance tasks, inspecting equipment for safety and operational reliability, and communicating effectively with production supervisors and maintenance management regarding repair needs and safety hazards. The role also requires operational skills such as forklift and pallet jack use and proficiency in data entry within maintenance and inventory management systems. This position is situated in a dynamic and physically challenging work environment that includes exposure to temperature variations and requires adherence to strict personal protective equipment standards. Shift and on-call duties are part of the role, necessitating a flexible and responsive individual capable of troubleshooting time-sensitive equipment issues calmly and effectively.
Joining Airgas means becoming part of a team that values diversity and inclusion as core to its success. The company actively cultivates a workplace environment where employees’ unique backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives drive innovation and performance. This role is ideal for candidates who thrive in collaborative settings and are looking for steady employment with opportunities for growth and development in a safety-centric industrial environment. Airgas offers various programs to enhance future security, including a 401(k) plan with company match, tuition assistance, paid holidays, vacation, and sick time that begin after 30 days of employment, strengthening the company’s commitment to a balanced and supportive work-life integration.
