The Las Vegas facility, located at 11401 US Highway 91, North Las Vegas, NV, has a rich history of producing gypsum wallboard and industrial plasters for various customers. This plant is part of Georgia-Pacific’s Building Products division, which is consistently among the nation’s top suppliers of building products to large warehouse retailers and building materials dealers. To provide some context, the team at this facility focuses on maintaining high-quality production standards with a deep commitment to safety and sustainability.
Georgia-Pacific is currently seeking a self-motivated and knowledgeable Maintenance Technician to join the team at the North Las Vegas plant. This role requires a dedicated individual who is proficient in troubleshooting, installation, alignment, and dismantling of industrial machinery and mechanical equipment. The Maintenance Technician will perform periodic maintenance routines including lubricating machines and equipment to enhance reliability and uptime, which is critical to achieving optimal plant performance. This position operates on a 12-hour shift schedule, including overtime, weekends, and holidays, highlighting the need for flexibility and commitment.

Job Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years mechanical maintenance experience
- Experience troubleshooting hydraulics and pneumatics
- Knowledge of industrial machinery components such as bearings, chains, sprockets, and gearboxes
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts including overtime, weekends, and holidays
- Willingness to adhere to all plant safety and environmental policies
- Capability to collaborate effectively with operations associates
- Ability to maintain detailed maintenance logs and use computerized maintenance systems
Job Qualifications
- Mechanical maintenance experience in industrial, manufacturing, agricultural, or military environments
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing hydraulics and pneumatics
- Experience with bearings, chains, sprockets, gearboxes, conveyors, rollers, pulleys, and shafts
- Experience with precision equipment installation and alignment
- Experience in machinery lubrication
- Five or more years of mechanical maintenance experience
- Experience fabricating, torch cutting, and arc welding
- Technical degree or higher in mechanical maintenance
- Ability to read blueprints and take precision measurements
- Experience using computer systems for record-keeping and documentation
Job Duties
- Troubleshooting industrial machinery and mechanical equipment
- Installing, aligning, and dismantling mechanical equipment
- Performing periodic maintenance routines including lubrication
- Participating in a preventative maintenance program
- Collaborating with operations to prioritize maintenance needs
- Recording work results and parts usage in maintenance management systems
- Adhering to plant safety and environmental guidelines and policies
