Headquartered in Charleston, South Carolina, Greystar operates in over 265 markets worldwide with offices in North America, Europe, South America, and the Asia-Pacific region. It is the largest apartment operator in the United States, managing more than one million units and beds globally. The company manages assets totaling approximately $300 billion, including $79 billion under management across various platforms, $35 billion in development assets, and $36.5 billion in regulatory assets. Founded in 1993 by Bob Faith, Greystar is committed to delivering world-class service in the rental residential real estate sector. To discover more about Greystar, visit www.greystar.com.

The role of Service Technician at Greystar involves performing a range of technical and mechanical duties essential to maintaining the physical integrity and operational excellence of residential properties managed by the company. This position ensures that buildings, grounds, amenities, and common areas adhere to company standards for cleanliness, appearance, safety, and functionality. Responsibilities include handling maintenance work orders generated from resident service requests, performing preventative maintenance, completing the make-ready process for vacant apartment homes, and ensuring property upkeep. The Service Technician is also responsible for managing materials, supplies, and equipment inventory, documenting service activities accurately, and supporting cost-saving initiatives by repairing rather than replacing parts when feasible.

This role requires compliance with Greystar’s rigorous safety and risk management policies, including participation in safety meetings and adherence to OSHA regulations. The technician may also inspect the work of contractors to ensure quality standards are met and assist in routine property inspections to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns. Physical demands include the ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, climb, lift weights up to 25 pounds independently and 50 pounds with assistance, and work in all weather conditions. The position may require flexible working hours, including call duties during evenings, weekends, and holidays.

The hourly wage range for this position is $21.00 to $23.00, influenced by factors such as business needs, experience, skills, and geographic location. Greystar offers bonus opportunities based on performance for both corporate and onsite positions. In addition, the company provides a comprehensive benefits package that includes competitive medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance; generous paid time off including vacation, personal days, sick days, paid holidays, and even birthday leave; onsite housing discounts; paid sabbaticals after ten years of service; 401(k) with company match; paid parental leave with fertility benefits; employee assistance programs; and additional voluntary benefits such as pet insurance and legal plans. The company promotes an inclusive hiring policy and encourages qualified individuals with arrest and conviction records to apply. Candidates will experience a secure and professional recruitment process with no requests for sensitive information outside official channels.
