Job Description

The hiring company is a well-established manufacturing firm specialized in food production, dedicated to maintaining high standards of equipment functionality and safety. This company prioritizes compliance with food safety policies and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations, ensuring a safe and hygienic working environment for all employees. The establishment operates a comprehensive maintenance program focusing primarily on plant equipment and building upkeep, central to sustaining operational efficiency and minimizing downtime.

This role offers a sign-on bonus of $6,000, highlighting the company’s commitment to attracting skilled maintenance professionals. The position is full-time and is critical in supporting the company’s ongoing operations by ensuring all mechanical and electrical equipment is operating effectively and safely. The successful candidate will have hands-on responsibilities encompassing troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining various types of equipment integral to the production process, including mechanical drive systems, HVAC, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and electrical components.

The maintenance technician will play a vital role in preventive maintenance tasks designed to minimize equipment failure and prolong equipment lifespan. The technician will be responsible for performing repairs to prevent long-term downtime and designing or fabricating replacement parts as necessary, occasionally requiring advanced skills in welding and mechanical fabrication. A strong emphasis is placed on electronic troubleshooting, especially of PLC-controlled equipment and 24-volt control circuits, which are essential in modern automated production environments.

In addition to technical duties, the technician must lead maintenance projects, such as machine rebuilds, equipment installations, and startups. This leadership aspect includes collaborating with other team members and departments to report food safety and quality issues in alignment with the company’s stringent policies. The role demands adherence to all food safety training, policies, and procedures, underscoring the company's culture of compliance and quality.

This position requires advanced knowledge in multiple technical areas including Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) practices, Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), lockout/tagout procedures, boiler operations, and refrigeration technologies involving ammonia or freon media. The ideal candidate will demonstrate an ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also contributing effectively as part of a team under fast-paced manufacturing conditions. Excellent communication skills, the ability to coach and mentor others, and proficiency in computer software such as Microsoft Office are critical to success in this role.

The company offers a challenging yet rewarding work environment where the candidate's technical skills and proactive approach to maintenance will significantly impact plant reliability and safety. This extensive maintenance role ensures that the facility complies with all safety regulations while operating at peak efficiency, making it a crucial position for maintaining the company’s reputation for excellence in food production.
