Furthermore, employees are encouraged to engage in community service with two volunteer days per year and enjoy company-paid short-term and long-term disability benefits as well as parental leave.

The role of Maintenance Technician at Balfour Beatty Communities is essential in sustaining the high standards of living the company promises its residents. The Maintenance Technician role offers a clear career progression path with various levels such as Maintenance Trainee, Maintenance Technician I, II, and III. This framework supports continued employee growth through targeted training plans and structured responsibilities.

This position involves overseeing multiple assets, supervising general maintenance engineers and technicians, and managing contractors for specific projects. Responsibilities include maintaining property orderliness, controlling inventory of parts and equipment, and coordinating maintenance activities while ensuring compliance with company safety and environmental policies. The Maintenance Technician interacts regularly with residents, delivering professional and responsive service to meet their needs. The role also requires participation in a rotating on-call schedule to provide 24/7 maintenance coverage, underscoring the importance of flexibility and dedication in this position.

Balfour Beatty Communities values strong technical proficiency as well as excellent communication and leadership skills. The ideal candidate will demonstrate advanced knowledge in at least one disciplinary area such as electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or carpentry, with the ability to diagnose problems and implement effective repairs. They should also be capable of performing quality control checks, training junior technicians, and maintaining clear written and verbal communication with residents and team members. The role requires a valid state-issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and involves physical tasks such as lifting heavy equipment and routinely working both indoors and outdoors within community settings.

This opportunity is well-suited for experienced maintenance technicians seeking to join a supportive and progressive company where their skills can thrive and develop. At a competitive pay rate of $34.16 per hour, and comprehensive benefits, Balfour Beatty Communities invites qualified professionals to grow their careers while making a meaningful impact on communities and the lives of residents they serve. Join us to be part of a company that truly cares and values your expertise and contribution to creating extraordinary community living experiences.
