Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- vocational or technical background
- minimum 2 years of relevant hotel engineering or maintenance experience
- valid driver’s license
- universal chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) certification
- must meet applicable state and federal licensing requirements
- ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds
- strong safety awareness and adherence to policies
- reliable communication skills
- ability to work independently and as part of a team
- willingness to complete required safety training and certifications
Job Qualifications

- at least 2 years of hotel engineering or maintenance experience
- universal chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) certification
- valid driver’s license
- knowledge of general maintenance, surface preparation, and painting
- ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
- proficiency with engineering computer programs
- ability to train and mentor junior engineers
- strong communication and teamwork skills
- ability to follow safety protocols
Job Duties
- Respond and attend to guest repair requests
- communicate with guests and customers to resolve maintenance issues
- perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment
- visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines
- carry equipment such as tools and radios
- identify and operate shut-off valves for equipment and buildings
- maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts
- communicate daily activities and problems to other shifts
- display proficiency in multiple technical categories including HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, kitchen equipment, vehicles, and energy conservation
- safely use hand and power tools
- repair or replace PVC copper pipe including soldering
- troubleshoot and repair pumps, motors, plumbing, electrical equipment, and guestroom items
- program televisions and perform housekeeping and engineering-related duties
- assist with surface preparation, painting, drywall and trim repair, light bulb and A/C filter replacement
- use Lockout/Tagout system
- utilize engineering computer programs for maintenance and energy management
- perform mid-level troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
- train and mentor other engineers
- perform Engineer on Duty responsibilities
- follow all company and safety policies and procedures
- report maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries
- complete safety training and certifications
- properly store flammable materials
- maintain clean and professional appearance
- protect company assets
- welcome and assist guests according to company standards
- support team goals and communicate effectively
- move and lift objects up to 50 pounds
- operate stairs, ramps, ladders
- access and use computers for work-related information
- perform other reasonable duties as requested
