Job Description
Fairfield is a prominent leader in the multifamily housing industry, known for its commitment to creating exceptional apartment living experiences. With a focus on community building and investment in people, Fairfield fosters a culture based on trust, support, and a shared drive to achieve excellence. As a vertically integrated operator and investment manager, Fairfield manages its own development, construction, acquisitions, and property and asset management services, enabling a comprehensive and cohesive approach to multifamily housing. The company values collaboration and innovation, offering a workplace where employees at all levels are encouraged to grow, contribute ideas, and make a meaningful impact.
Nestled in Ridgemoor, a community featuring 253 well-maintained units, the Maintenance Technician II role at Fairfield is central to maintaining the property's high standards. This full-time position offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $24.84 to $27.81, reflecting skills, experience, and job complexity. In addition, a $1,000 sign-on bonus is available after 90 days of employment, emphasizing Fairfield's investment in bringing dedicated professionals on board. The maintenance technician will be an essential player in ensuring all residential units and community areas are safe, clean, and welcoming, directly influencing tenant satisfaction and retention.
As a Maintenance Technician II, your responsibilities encompass a variety of hands-on tasks critical to the property's daily operations. These include conducting repairs and routine maintenance across electrical, plumbing, and appliance systems, as well as preparing vacant apartments for new tenants using a specified Make Ready Checklist. Your role also extends to the upkeep of external property features, such as outdoor areas and pools, ensuring that all common spaces meet safety and cleanliness standards. Beyond routine responsibilities, you will participate in an emergency on-call rotation to respond to urgent situations, highlighting the importance of flexibility and prompt problem-solving skills in this position.
The role demands regular communication with vendors and contractors to coordinate maintenance efforts and manage inventory and potential liabilities efficiently. Compliance with Fairfield’s policies and adherence to best safety practices are paramount, with ongoing training opportunities provided to maintain professional standards. The organization's supportive and collaborative culture creates an environment in which you can thrive, supported by training, mentoring, and career development programs aimed at helping you advance your skills and professional growth.
Fairfield is committed to being more than just a workplace; it’s a community where associates are valued partners in the company's success. The company offers robust benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance, matched 401(k) plans, paid time off including holidays and sick leave, and volunteer time off to support causes meaningful to employees. These benefits underscore Fairfield's dedication to quality care and work-life balance, making it an attractive employer for maintenance professionals seeking stability, growth, and purpose in their careers.
