The Maintenance Technician role at Legacy Partners is a vital on-site position responsible for the overall maintenance and upkeep of apartment communities. As a full-time role, the Maintenance Technician works Sunday through Thursday and is expected to be available for on-call emergencies, reflecting the dynamic nature of multifamily property management. Reporting directly to the Business Manager and Service Technician Supervisor, this role demands a hands-on approach to repairing and maintaining community infrastructure and apartment homes. The Maintenance Technician will address various maintenance needs including appliance repairs, plumbing, electrical issues, carpentry, painting, flooring, and fixture replacements. They will also assist in apartment turnover processes, ensuring units are clean and ready for new residents, and conduct move-in and move-out inspections. Preventative maintenance forms a key part of the responsibilities, following strict maintenance schedules and manufacturer guidelines to keep equipment operational and community standards high.

This position also involves assisting with groundskeeping tasks such as cleaning common areas, landscaping support, and exterior repairs such as fencing and concrete work. Emergency response is critical, requiring the technician to be knowledgeable about utility shut-offs and pest control measures for a safe and secure living environment. The Maintenance Technician will work closely with the property management team to uphold company policies, maintenance procedures, and professional standards, ensuring resident satisfaction and community well-being. Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience in maintenance or a related field preferred
  • knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and appliance repair
  • ability to perform routine and preventative maintenance
  • good communication and teamwork skills
  • ability to work flexible hours including on-call emergencies
  • capable of lifting heavy equipment and performing physical tasks
  • understanding of safety and maintenance protocols

Job Duties

  • Fix appliances, plumbing, electrical, and basic carpentry issues
  • replace flooring, locks, fixtures, and other common items
  • paint interiors and exteriors as needed
