The role of Maintenance Technician at Trane Technologies involves maintaining and repairing machinery and auxiliary equipment critical to supporting multiple production lines. This position demands a skilled technician who can handle various maintenance tasks, including repairing tools, machines, and equipment, as well as fabricating specialized tools, carts, and equipment as needed by the facilities and operations teams. The Maintenance Technician is expected to perform preventative maintenance according to established schedules to ensure continuous uptime and operational efficiency. The role requires effective communication with internal customers and supervisors, advising on equipment status and coordinating with external service providers for repairs and installation. The position also involves managing materials, preparing bills of material for major jobs, and prioritizing work to address the most urgent needs.

Candidates will engage with material handling equipment like hoists, lifts, carts, and forklifts to move items of varying weights safely and efficiently. Strict adherence to the plant's lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) procedures is mandatory to maintain a safe working environment. This role calls for a versatile technician with competency in multiple crafts, strong mechanical and basic electrical skills, and the ability to read and comprehend schematics and blueprints. It also requires a motivated, self-starting individual who can maintain machines and building infrastructure at 100% uptime through robust preventative practices. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Experience with a wide range of mechanical equipment
  • Strong mechanical skills
  • Basic electrical skills
  • Comprehension of schematics and blueprints
  • Ability to follow lock-out/tag-out safety procedures
  • Self-starter and motivated to maintain equipment
  • Ability to use material handling equipment such as hoists, lifts, and forklifts
  • Physical ability to perform maintenance tasks

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Degree in maintenance technology or equivalent preferred

Job Duties

  • Maintain equipment and tools as needed and per the PM schedule
  • Communicate consistently with internal customers regarding status of equipment
  • Advise supervisor of needs for outside services and work with service representatives on equipment and controls repair and installation
  • Show competency in several crafts and perform handyman aspects in all trades and build specialized tools, carts, equipment as needed
  • Prepare bills of material on jobs requiring major material use and initiate purchase requisitions
  • Make day to day work-related decisions and prioritize needs to complete more urgent items first
  • Use various material handling equipment such as hoists, carts, lifts, fork trucks and hand trucks in moving light to heavy weight material
  • Use a variety of lock-out/tag-out devices as required per plant LOTO plan
