Job Description

Greystar is a leading, fully integrated global real estate platform specializing in institutional-quality rental housing across multiple service areas including property management, investment management, development, and construction. Founded in 1993 and headquartered in Charleston, South Carolina, Greystar has grown into one of the largest apartment operators in the United States, currently managing and operating over $300 billion in real estate assets spanning more than 265 markets worldwide. Their expansive global footprint includes offices in North America, Europe, South America, and the Asia-Pacific region. The company manages over one million residential units and beds, making it a dominant force in the residential rental real estate industry. Greystar emphasizes world-class service, innovative solutions, and sustainability in all facets of its operations, reinforcing its reputation as a premier provider in rental housing.

The Service Technician role at Greystar involves technical and mechanical responsibilities aimed at maintaining the optimal physical condition of property buildings, grounds, amenities, and common areas. This position ensures an outstanding level of cleanliness, appearance, safety, and functionality across the property. Service Technicians act swiftly to address maintenance requests from residents and perform preventative maintenance tasks to preserve the integrity of the property. Key duties include troubleshooting and repairing defects, preparing apartments for new residents through thorough make-ready processes, managing supplies and equipment inventory, and supporting general upkeep such as cleaning and power washing. Adherence to safety standards, including OSHA regulations and company risk-management policies, is a major element of the role. The position requires flexibility with work schedules, including availability during evenings, weekends, and holidays to cover on-call responsibilities. Physical demands are considerable, involving standing, walking, bending, lifting, and working in all weather conditions. EPA certification for refrigerant recycling and other relevant state or local licenses are required for compliance.

The compensation for this hourly position typically ranges from $21.50 to $23.50, with final pay reflective of factors such as experience, skills, geographical location, and business needs. Employees may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses at various intervals depending on their role. As part of its commitment to employee wellbeing, Greystar offers a comprehensive benefits package including competitive health insurance options, generous paid time off including vacation, personal and sick days, onsite housing discounts, sabbatical leave, retirement plans with company matching, parental leave and fertility benefits, and employee assistance programs. Greystar is an equal opportunity employer promoting inclusivity without discrimination based on a broad range of protected characteristics. This role provides an excellent opportunity to contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of quality rental housing within a world-class global real estate company environment.
