Job Description

Pluckers is a dynamic and rapidly growing restaurant chain based in Texas, with a strong corporate presence in Austin and locations spread across major Texas cities including Central Texas (Austin and San Antonio), Dallas-Fort Worth, and Houston. With 34 units statewide and ambitious plans for continued expansion, Pluckers has earned a reputation not only for its quality dining experience but also as an exceptional workplace. The company culture is highly praised, recognized by the Austin Business Journal as one of the Best Restaurants to Work For on four separate occasions and ranked among the Top 25 Businesses Overall to Work For. Pluckers prides itself on fostering an environment that is engaging, supportive, and fun, truly making it a great place to build a career and contribute meaningfully to the team.

As a growing enterprise with an expanding Facilities Department, Pluckers is currently seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and communicative individual to join them as a Maintenance Technician. This is a full-time, salaried, non-exempt position offering $19.23 to $25 per hour depending on experience, with work primarily Monday through Friday and some variable hours, including early mornings or evenings. The Maintenance Technician role is vital in maintaining the operational integrity and longevity of the company's HVAC and refrigeration systems across multiple restaurant locations.

The Maintenance Technician will focus on performing routine and preventive maintenance tasks essential to system performance, such as cleaning, filter replacement, visual inspections, and basic operational checks. While this role does not require handling refrigerant tasks or sealed system repairs, it involves coordination with licensed HVAC and refrigeration contractors for more advanced repairs, ensuring systems function efficiently and safely. The daily work environment can vary widely, from restaurant kitchens to mechanical rooms and rooftops, demanding a good level of physical fitness and comfort with exposure to heat, humidity, and mechanical equipment.

Additionally, the role demands effective communication skills for liaising with customers, building managers, and supervisors, along with a commitment to safety standards, following OSHA regulations, and company policies rigorously. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining company vehicles, tools, and equipment in good condition while demonstrating ownership and a quality-driven mindset. Importantly, no prior facilities experience is necessary as Pluckers is committed to training the right candidate and providing all necessary onboarding to succeed in the role. This makes the position ideal for a motivated professional eager to develop specialized technical skills in the facilities and maintenance domain.

Pluckers also offers an attractive package of benefits and perks, including comprehensive health insurance coverage that fully pays for corporate office employees' health, dental, and vision insurance, 15 paid days off per year plus paid holidays, free meals at all Pluckers locations, and discount programs for theme parks, concerts, and more. This supportive and rewarding benefits package complements the company’s culture, ensuring that employees feel valued and supported in both their professional and personal lives. Overall, this Maintenance Technician role is an excellent opportunity for those seeking to join a respected company with a vibrant culture, grow their technical capabilities in a supportive environment, and contribute to a dynamic, growing organization.
