Job Description

Friendship Village is dedicated to providing vibrant senior living within a Life-Care community environment. Established with a mission to create a place where people want to live, work, and visit, Friendship Village embodies the core values of service, compassion, respect, excellence, and friendliness. These principles guide the daily interactions among residents, team members, and visitors, fostering a strong sense of community and belonging. The team's commitment is evident in every aspect of life at Friendship Village, aiming to ensure residents experience a high quality of life, along with safety and comfort in a supportive environment.

Friendship Village is currently seeking a motivated and compassionate individual to join their Facility Services team as a Maintenance Technician. This full-time position offers a starting pay of $19.00 per hour and holds a significant role in maintaining the physical environment that supports the community. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for conducting various maintenance tasks under the direction of a supervisor, including preventive maintenance, routine servicing, seasonal repairs, and equipment upkeep focused on building infrastructure and plumbing systems.

In this role, the Maintenance Technician will perform general upkeep such as repairing wall and floor coverings, furniture, and fixtures, light plumbing and minor electrical repairs, and appliance maintenance. Additionally, there are painting and refurbishing projects that need attention as directed by supervisors, contributing to the ongoing enhancement of living spaces. The position requires a hands-on and proactive approach to detecting and addressing maintenance issues that ensure safety and comfort for residents and employees alike.

The Maintenance Technician role at Friendship Village not only demands technical abilities but also a strong commitment to the organization's values. The ideal candidate is expected to communicate effectively, understand and follow English instructions, and possess basic arithmetic skills. Educationally, a high school diploma or equivalent is necessary, with technical schooling or proven maintenance work history highly preferred. These qualifications help prepare the technician to manage the diverse range of tasks that come with maintaining a life-care community.

In addition to a rewarding work environment, Friendship Village offers competitive benefits designed to support the wellbeing and security of its employees. Medical, dental, and vision coverage is part of the comprehensive healthcare benefits, while financial security is supported through a 403(b) plan and flexible spending accounts. The organization also promotes work-life balance by providing paid holidays and accrued paid time off (PTO) with every pay period.

Joining Friendship Village means becoming part of a team that values not only the professional skills of its employees but also their passion for hospitality and senior engagement. This opportunity is perfect for individuals who are enthusiastic and compassionate, seeking to contribute meaningfully in a senior care setting focused on community, respect, and excellence. Interested candidates are encouraged to apply by submitting a resume or documentation of past work experience. Additionally, as part of its commitment to health and safety, Friendship Village may inquire about vaccination status for MMR, chicken pox, hepatitis, and flu vaccines for roles within the community.

Friendship Village is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer, committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace where everyone has the chance to thrive. The Maintenance Technician position at Friendship Village is not just a job; it is a chance to make a positive impact within a supportive, vibrant community dedicated to senior living excellence.
