The Stock Yards facility, part of US Foods, specializes in providing expertly cut and portioned beef and pork, with over 120 years of heritage in meat selection, aging, and trimming. Their expertise serves a wide range of clients from white-linen establishments to casual family dining environments, ensuring top-quality meat options tailored to budget and pack-size requirements.
The Maintenance Mechanic role at the Stock Yards facility is a critical position responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of production and facility equipment. This role ensures all machinery and equipment are operational to support day and night production cycles. The Maintenance Mechanic performs necessary repairs, documents all activities, and carries out preventive maintenance tasks. The role requires adherence to US Foods and governmental safety standards, including Lock Out/Tag Out procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
The position operates on the first shift work schedule, Monday through Friday, from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm at the Stock Yards facility. The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintaining hazardous materials documentation, securing battery charging areas, managing company tools and replacement parts, and potentially purchasing tools and equipment as authorized. They also maintain logs and records in accordance with company policies.
Typical duties include repairing and overhauling warehouse and production equipment, reviewing equipment reports from associates, maintaining repair and preventative maintenance logs, and ensuring compliance with safety guidelines. This role frequently involves physical work, including standing, walking, lifting moderate to heavy loads, climbing, and manipulating tools and equipment.
Compensation for this role ranges from $27.00 to $28.00 per hour depending on relevant experience, education, skills, function, and geographic location, with eligibility for overtime compensation.
