Job Description

Pluckers is a thriving restaurant chain based in Texas, known for its vibrant company culture and commitment to employee satisfaction. Originally established in Austin, the corporate office remains at the heart of its operations, but the company has expanded its footprint across Central Texas, including major cities such as Austin, San Antonio, Dallas-Fort Worth, and Houston. With 34 restaurant units and ambitious plans for further growth across Texas and beyond, Pluckers has built a reputation as a top employer in the hospitality industry. It has been recognized multiple times as the Best Restaurant to Work For and was ranked among the Top 25 Businesses Overall to Work For by the Austin Business Journal. This recognition reflects Pluckers’ focus on fostering a workplace environment where employees find both professional fulfillment and enjoyment in their roles.

Pluckers is currently expanding its Facilities Department and is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Maintenance Technician to join its team. This role is perfect for individuals who enjoy problem-solving, communicating effectively, and juggling multiple priorities throughout the day. The company values team players who are adaptable and eager to learn, offering training for those without prior facilities or maintenance experience. This role involves performing routine preventive maintenance tasks on HVAC and refrigeration systems, ensuring optimal system performance and longevity. The Maintenance Technician will primarily handle cleaning, filter replacement, visual inspections, and basic operational checks. They will also coordinate with licensed HVAC and refrigeration contractors for repairs that go beyond simple maintenance.

As part of the Facilities Department, the Maintenance Technician will have the responsibility to perform scheduled preventive maintenance on HVAC systems such as rooftop units, split systems, and fan coils. Duties include inspecting, cleaning, and servicing components like filters, coils, belts, motors, bearings, and drain pans. However, this role does not involve refrigerant-related tasks or major repairs to sealed systems. A key aspect of the job is to accurately document service activities via work order management software, ensuring transparency and communication with supervisors and building managers. The Maintenance Technician will also maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment in good working order while strictly adhering to OSHA safety standards and company policies.

This full-time position operates primarily Monday through Friday, with variable hours that may include early mornings or evenings. Travel during workdays to various restaurant locations is required, with overnight stays expected about 35% of the time. The company provides a vehicle for travel between locations. The work environment is diverse, spanning restaurants’ kitchens, rooftops, mechanical rooms, and exterior areas, exposing employees to heat, humidity, and mechanical equipment. Physical requirements include the ability to work in non-climate-controlled environments, lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders safely to access rooftop equipment, and stand, walk, bend, kneel, or crouch for extended periods.

This is a salaried, non-exempt role with an hourly pay range of $19.23 to $25, depending on experience. Beyond the competitive pay, Pluckers offers an impressive benefits package. Health insurance coverage includes 100% coverage of health, dental, and vision for corporate office employees. Employees also enjoy 15 paid days off annually, plus paid holidays, free meals at Pluckers, and discount programs for theme parks, concerts, and other entertainment. Pluckers prides itself on providing a supportive, fun, and dynamic working environment for its team members, making it an excellent opportunity for motivated individuals looking to grow within a reputable and rapidly expanding restaurant company.
