Job Description
Waffle House is a well-established American restaurant chain that specializes in breakfast foods and quick-service dining. Known for its 24-hour availability and iconic diner atmosphere, Waffle House operates numerous locations across the United States, primarily in the Southeast. The company prides itself on its commitment to customer satisfaction, delivering quality food and a friendly dining experience. With a reputation built over decades, Waffle House continues to expand and maintain its presence in local communities while supporting its associates and customers alike.
The Waffle House Maintenance Technician role is a full-time position responsible for maintaining multiple restaurant locations within a designated geographical area. This role is critical in ensuring that Waffle House restaurants operate smoothly by performing routine and emergency maintenance tasks. The technician will handle a range of duties including installation and repair of restaurant equipment, refrigeration systems, electrical wiring, plumbing, HVAC units, roof repairs, and replacement of structural elements like doors, blinds, and tiles. The position requires a versatile technician who is comfortable working independently but also capable of collaborating within a team environment.
Working as a Maintenance Technician at Waffle House involves diverse challenges that require a combination of technical skills and hands-on experience. Candidates must be familiar with basic plumbing, electrical systems at both low voltage and higher voltages (single and three-phase service), and must have experience with HVAC repairs particularly for units up to 5 tons. Additionally, possessing EPA Universal Certification is mandatory due to the nature of refrigeration and HVAC servicing involved. The job requires the use of various hand and power tools, and it demands attention to detail, the ability to manage stress, high motivation, and a proactive approach to daily tasks.
This position offers a competitive hourly pay rate ranging from $18.00 to $23.00, reflecting the skillset and experience required. The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday from 7 am to 5 pm, with an on-call rotation covering nights, weekends, and holidays to provide quick response during emergencies. Waffle House values work-life balance and provides extensive benefits including paid vacation time, medical, dental and life insurance for employees and their families, and additional perks such as company vehicle provision and eligibility to purchase company stock after 90 days.
Joining Waffle House as a Maintenance Technician offers the opportunity to be part of a strong and growing company that is deeply committed to both its customers and associates. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy variety in their workday, are skilled in multiple maintenance disciplines, and are looking for a stable position within a supportive and well-recognized brand. The job is onsite and requires good communication skills, preferably in English, to effectively coordinate tasks and contribute to the ongoing success of the restaurants maintained.
