The Maintenance Technician role at CTI Foods is a vital position within the company's operational framework. The technician is responsible for utilizing specialized mechanical and electrical skills to maintain and optimize a variety of food packaging, processing, and facility equipment. This role promotes operational efficiency by minimizing equipment downtime through expert maintenance and quick response to breakdowns or emergency repairs. The technician will perform scheduled preventive maintenance and corrective repairs, increasing the longevity of machinery assets and ensuring continuous production flow. Daily documentation of work performed is a critical part of the job, providing clear records of repairs, maintenance, and operational details to support department transparency and accountability. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum 5 years of advanced mechanical troubleshooting and repair experience
  • Proficient in reading and writing English
  • Experience working in food manufacturing preferred
  • Strong communication skills both oral and written
  • Ability to write reports
  • Basic arithmetic skills
  • Ability to multitask and solve problems
  • Ability to understand technical information in various formats
  • Compliance with GMP policies
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, safety-conscious environment
  • Must be physically able to stand, walk, lift up to 100 lbs, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and work at heights up to 20 feet
  • Willingness to adhere to food safety and quality standards
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment

Job Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years’ experience in advanced mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills or specialized training
  • Ability to read and write English
  • Experience in a food manufacturing environment preferred
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks and solve problems effectively
  • Ability to interpret technical information in mathematical or narrative form
  • Compliance with GMP policies including restrictions on jewelry, acrylic nails, outside food, and appropriate clothing
  • Bilingual skills are a positive but not required

Job Duties

  • Perform corrective maintenance and emergency maintenance on food packaging and processing equipment and facility equipment to maximize equipment up-time
  • Complete scheduled preventative maintenance and work orders to increase asset life
  • Document daily activities and work performed including equipment repairs from breakdowns, work orders, or scheduled maintenance
  • Troubleshoot and resolve advanced mechanical and electrical equipment issues
  • Repair and rebuild pumps, mills, gearboxes, and other mechanical components
  • Assist and train other maintenance mechanics to increase skill levels within the department
  • Promote and adhere to food safety and quality standards
