Job Description

Waffle House is a well-established and rapidly growing restaurant chain known for its commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences and outstanding customer service. Founded in 1955, Waffle House has grown into a household name with locations across multiple states, serving a diverse range of guests who appreciate their classic menu and welcoming atmosphere. As a company that values its customers and associates alike, Waffle House emphasizes a strong workplace culture, competitive compensation, and attractive benefits packages. This dynamic environment fosters growth and career development for employees at all levels.

The Maintenance Technician role at Waffle House is a full-time position focused on maintaining and repairing multiple restaurant locations within a specified geographical area. This position is vital in ensuring the smooth operation of each restaurant by preventing downtime and addressing facility issues promptly and efficiently. The role requires a highly skilled individual with expertise in various maintenance disciplines including electrical work, plumbing, HVAC repair, roof repairs, and general building maintenance such as replacing doors, blinds, and tiles. This position will regularly tackle the maintenance and repair of restaurant-specific equipment including refrigeration units, which are critical to the daily operations of the business.

The successful candidate will bring hands-on experience and certifications relevant to HVAC and refrigeration systems, such as EPA Universal Certification. Responsibilities include installation of new equipment, troubleshooting system malfunctions, and conducting preventative maintenance to avoid disruptions. The technician must be comfortable working independently as well as collaboratively within a team setting, often needing to exhibit high levels of motivation and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. Stress tolerance is important, as the role occasionally requires handling emergency repairs outside of typical business hours.

Waffle House offers a competitive compensation package with pay ranging from $28.00 to $40.00 per hour, reflecting the skill and experience required for this demanding role. The work schedule is primarily Monday through Friday from 7am to 5pm, with a rotating on-call schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays. This schedule requires flexibility and a dedication to maintaining high operational standards across multiple restaurant locations.

In addition to a company vehicle for work-related travel, the Maintenance Technician will benefit from a comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plan for themselves and their family. Paid vacation time begins at two weeks per year and increases to three weeks after two years of service. Employees are also eligible to purchase Waffle House stock after just 90 days of employment, which reinforces the company’s commitment to recognizing and rewarding dedicated team members.

This opportunity is perfect for a motivated and detail-oriented maintenance professional who is looking to grow their career within a stable and supportive company. Waffle House prides itself on its strong corporate culture and dedication to employee satisfaction, making it an excellent choice for those seeking long-term employment and robust benefits in the restaurant industry.
