Job Description
Waffle House is a well-established and rapidly growing restaurant chain known for its commitment to customers and associates. Specializing in 24/7 dining service, the company operates multiple restaurants across various geographical areas. Waffle House emphasizes a supportive work environment that values high motivation, stress tolerance, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. This strong growth-oriented company offers its employees the chance to thrive in a dynamic setting while contributing to the seamless operation of multiple restaurant locations.
The role of Maintenance Technician at Waffle House is a full-time position offering a competitive hourly wage ranging from $28.00 to $30.00. This role requires a highly skilled technician to manage maintenance tasks across several restaurants in the region. Responsibilities include installing and repairing restaurant and refrigeration equipment, performing electrical work, plumbing tasks, HVAC maintenance, roof repairs, and replacing building materials such as doors, blinds, and tiles. The technician must possess strong technical skills in areas such as basic plumbing, low voltage and 120/208 volt electrical wiring (both single and three-phase service), and HVAC repairs for systems up to 5 tons.
Waffle House places a significant emphasis on safety and certification standards. The ideal candidate will hold an EPA Universal Certification for handling refrigeration systems, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations. The position also offers the use of a company vehicle to facilitate travel between restaurant locations and includes a standard work schedule from Monday to Friday, 7 AM to 5 PM. Additionally, the Maintenance Technician will participate in a rotating on-call schedule for weekends, nights, and holidays, providing critical support when needed.
Employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and life insurance options for themselves and their families. There is also an opportunity to purchase Waffle House stock after 90 days of employment, highlighting the company’s investment in its employees’ long-term success. Paid vacation is provided at two weeks per year initially, increasing to three weeks after two years of service. This benefit package, along with the company’s strong culture and growth trajectory, makes Waffle House an attractive employer for maintenance professionals seeking stability and career growth in the hospitality industry.
Working as a Maintenance Technician at Waffle House requires a detail-oriented approach to problem-solving, the ability to tolerate stressful situations, and a high level of self-motivation. This role is integral to maintaining smooth operations and creating positive customer experiences by ensuring restaurant facilities are safe, functional, and welcoming. If you are skilled in multi-faceted maintenance operations and want to join a strong and growing company dedicated to both customers and associates, this full-time position offers an excellent career path.
