The Maintenance Technician role within Eaton's IS VEH VGNA division is an essential position designed to ensure the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of plant equipment to maximize operational uptime. In this role, the Maintenance Technician will be responsible for maintaining presses ranging from 1000 to 3000 tons, performing welding and fabrication duties to repair or replace equipment fixtures, and interpreting electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical schematics for diagnostics and repairs. Preventative and predictive maintenance tasks are central to ensuring equipment reliability. The technician will also operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, cranes, and hoists, and must adhere strictly to OSHA safety standards to maintain a safe working environment.

Team collaboration is vital, as the technician will work closely with other plant functions to implement safety, quality, efficiency, and capital improvement projects. Job Requirements

  • Must have a high school diploma or General Equivalency Degree (GED) from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of three (3) years industrial electrical experience OR Associates degree in Industrial/Electrical Maintenance
  • Must reside within 50 miles of the work location unless an active duty military service member
  • Must be able to work all shifts with shift assignments subject to annual bidding and movement within the facility
  • No relocation benefit offered
  • Must have legal authorization to work in the United States
  • Must adhere to all plant safety requirements and OSHA regulations

Job Qualifications

  • Must have a high school diploma or General Equivalency Degree (GED) from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of three (3) years industrial electrical experience OR Associates degree in Industrial/Electrical Maintenance
  • Experience with Allen - Bradley PLC systems
  • Minimum of two (2) years of electrical specialty experience
  • Associates Degree in Industrial Maintenance or related field
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) preferred

Job Duties

  • Troubleshoot/repair and maintain presses including 1000 ton up to 3000 ton presses
  • Weld/fabricate fixtures, equipment repair, guarding and plumbing using electrical/electronic schematics, hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams, and mechanical blueprints to rebuild/repair equipment
  • Perform scheduled preventative and predictive maintenance on presses and other plant equipment
  • Operate material handling equipment including forklifts, cranes and hoists
  • Perform rigging as required
  • Adhere to all plant safety requirements to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations
  • Participate as a leader on the maintenance team for major repairs, as a team member in resolution of manufacturing problems, troubleshooting and productivity improvement analysis as a task force member on activities such as peer selection, job evaluation and equipment selection
