Pyramid Hotel Group manages the Candlewood Suites Hotel at Michigan State University, a 128-suite property connected to the university's state-of-the-art Executive Education Center and boasting views of the championship golf course. Guests enjoy exclusive access to the adjacent University Club facilities, including dining, health club, daycare, and recreational options. Within this prestigious setting, we are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Engineer to join our team. This role demands a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual responsible for a wide range of maintenance tasks, including equipment installation, repairs, and upkeep of preventative maintenance programs. The ideal candidate will excel in various trades such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, painting, and wall/tile repair, ensuring the property remains in prime condition.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous maintenance experience in a hospitality setting
  • Proficiency in electrical, plumbing, and carpentry repairs
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented mindset
  • Ability to handle fast-paced, high-pressure situations
  • Excellent communication abilities
  • Flexible availability including weekends and holidays
  • Physical capability to perform job duties including lifting up to 50 lbs and sustained physical activity

Job Qualifications

  • Experience working in a maintenance role at a hotel or resort
  • Knowledge of household repairs including carpentry, electrical, and plumbing

  • Availability to work various shifts including weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • Performs general maintenance of building and facility mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
  • Performs general electrical repairs on appliances, house wiring and air conditioning systems, switches, fixtures and motors
  • Makes repairs on plumbing fixtures, piping, drains and sanitary systems
  • Make repairs to woodwork, wall vinyl, doors and window, carpeting, etc
  • Performs general mechanical maintenance on pumps, compressors, water heaters, automotive equipment, and other miscellaneous equipment
  • Keeps records as required by company policy and procedures
  • Maintains logs on completed tasks
  • Prepares reports as requested by supervisors
  • Submits all requested reports/logs in a timely manner
