Job Description
Our client is a reputable hotel known for maintaining high standards of hospitality and guest satisfaction by providing a comfortable and well-maintained environment for visitors. As part of the hospitality industry, this hotel prides itself on its attention to detail, cleanliness, safety, and efficient facility operations. The establishment prioritizes a seamless guest experience, relying heavily on its skilled maintenance team to ensure that all areas of the property, including guest rooms, common spaces, exterior grounds, and equipment, are in excellent condition. The hotel operates under committed management, including a Maintenance Manager and General Manager, to uphold brand standards and oversee daily operations.
The Maintenance Technician position is a pivotal role responsible for sustaining the hotel’s maintenance department and ensuring the visual appeal and operational functionality of the property. This is a non-exempt, on-site position that demands a versatile and skilled individual capable of performing routine maintenance, emergency repairs, preventive maintenance, and collaborating with vendors and corporate maintenance teams on special projects such as remodeling and capital improvements. The Maintenance Tech will work independently while also taking direction from the Maintenance Manager, and must be adept at multitasking, problem-solving, and prioritizing work effectively in a dynamic hospitality setting.
This role encompasses a wide range of maintenance duties including but not limited to repairing HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical issues, and lighting. The technician is expected to manage specialized tasks such as painting, carpentry, pool maintenance, groundskeeping, and vehicle shuttle operations when necessary. The role requires a proactive approach to preventive maintenance to minimize potential disruptions and extend the lifecycle of the hotel’s assets. The Maintenance Tech will also be responsible for maintaining inventory of supplies, conducting safety inspections, ensuring compliance with all relevant codes and regulations, and keeping detailed records of maintenance activities.
Guest interaction is an important aspect of this position; the technician must communicate professionally and respond promptly to guest maintenance requests to uphold guest satisfaction and brand standards. Physical stamina and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks like lifting, bending, and standing for long periods are essential. Furthermore, the candidate must exhibit strong organizational skills, an entrepreneurial mindset focused on growth, and a strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
Preferred qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, hospitality experience, and certifications such as HVAC and Certified Pool Operator. The position requires strong knowledge of equipment and chemicals related to hotel maintenance and the ability to train others. This role offers an opportunity to play a key role in supporting the operational success and guest satisfaction of a well-established hotel property, making it ideal for those with hospitality maintenance experience seeking stable employment with clear responsibilities and growth potential.
