Job Description

Edgewood Properties is a well-established real estate development and property management company that has been shaping communities since its founding in 1992. Headquartered in New Jersey, Edgewood Properties has built a strong presence across the nation with a rapidly expanding portfolio. Currently managing over 6,000 apartment units, the company is on a significant growth trajectory with plans to double its portfolio within the next couple of years and reach over 12,000 units within five years. This growth is fueled by the company's strategic focus on development and retention of properties rather than selling them, reflecting a commitment to long-term investment and community building.

Operating in the multi-family residential sector, Edgewood Properties is recognized for its dedication to quality living environments, operational efficiency, and customer service excellence. Their properties are designed to cater to diverse residents, offering well-maintained, attractive, and functional living spaces along with high standards in community management. The company’s culture emphasizes teamwork, professional growth, and a strong corporate support system, providing a stable and rewarding workplace for its employees.

We are currently seeking a dedicated Porter to join our team at The Lofts at Gloucester, located in Blackwood, New Jersey. This is a full-time position, ideal for candidates with experience in the property management or multi-family housing sector who are passionate about maintaining clean, safe, and pleasant community spaces. As a Porter, you will play a critical role in maintaining the overall appearance and functionality of the property, contributing directly to resident satisfaction and the overall value of the community.

In this role, the Porter is responsible for maintaining the leasing office, model units, interior public areas, and common spaces to ensure everything is neat and welcoming. Additionally, the role involves keeping the grounds, sidewalks, stairways, building exteriors, and garden areas clean and orderly. The Porter supports the property team by assisting with preparing vacant apartments to be rent-ready in a timely fashion by performing turnkey work and related tasks. Trash removal, debris cleanup, and completing assigned service requests or repairs are also key components of the daily duties.

Interaction with residents is an integral part of this position. The Porter helps uphold the company’s customer service standards by promptly responding to resident requests, helping to resolve issues or complaints professionally and effectively. Maintaining compliance with company policies, safety standards, and all federal, state, and local laws—including Fair Housing regulations—is a mandatory aspect of the job.

Beyond these essential functions, the Porter will also perform all other tasks or duties assigned by supervisors and must maintain a professional appearance consistent with the company’s dress code. The work schedule is based on business needs and could be subject to change. This position reports to the Senior Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Manager, or Maintenance Supervisor, and does not have direct supervisory responsibilities.

Working at Edgewood Properties offers more than just a job. The company offers competitive compensation along with a comprehensive benefit package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, and a 401(k) plan. Employees benefit from a supportive corporate team environment with ample opportunities for advancement. Additional perks include access to an on-site company fitness gym and discounts on housing and home appliances.

At Edgewood Properties, we pride ourselves on an inclusive hiring process, ensuring all qualified applicants receive consideration for employment irrespective of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, or protected veteran status. Join us as a Porter at The Lofts at Gloucester and contribute to a growing company that values its people and communities.
