Job Description

McDonald's is one of the world's leading fast-food restaurant chains, renowned for its dedication to quality, customer service, and continuous community involvement. Operating through a network of independently owned franchises, McDonald's has established a reputation for providing consistent and delicious food offerings in a clean and welcoming environment. This particular franchise is hiring for a full-time Maintenance Crew Member position, located at the heart of its operational team, contributing to the seamless and efficient functioning of the restaurant.

Maintenance plays a critical role in ensuring that every McDonald's restaurant runs safely and smoothly while upholding the high standards customers expect. The Maintenance Crew Member will be responsible for performing routine and scheduled upkeep tasks both inside the restaurant and on the surrounding grounds. This involves a variety of essential duties such as cleaning, equipment maintenance, and organization of storage areas. The role demands reliability, an eye for detail, and the ability to adhere to a structured schedule. Notably, while previous experience is advantageous, this position is open to individuals willing to learn, as training will be provided to help crew members master the necessary skills.

The Maintenance Crew Member will work on a fixed schedule from 5:00 am to 2:00 pm, which includes availability on truck delivery days, Sunday and Wednesday. This schedule is designed to help maintain stock levels and ensure that all maintenance needs are addressed promptly and efficiently. The responsibilities cover vital maintenance activities such as performing cleaning duties inside restaurant areas, power washing sidewalks, window washing, and performing planned maintenance on kitchen equipment including grills and fryers. Additional tasks involve replacing light bulbs, filters, basic rooftop maintenance, and verifying the functionality of safety systems such as fire alarms.

Safety and functionality are paramount in this role, requiring the person to be comfortable with physical tasks that include lifting up to 50 pounds and using ladders. The Maintenance Crew Member will also assist with receiving and stocking bi-weekly truck orders, supporting the overall operational readiness of the restaurant. Reporting directly to a facilities or Maintenance Team Lead, crew members will have the guidance needed to handle any issues escalating from routine maintenance work.

Beyond the duties, this role offers several educational and employee benefits, including access to McDonald's Manager Training for college credit, tuition assistance programs covering various educational institutions, and the opportunity to earn a high school diploma through their Archways to Opportunity Program. These programs signify McDonald’s commitment to supporting employee growth and career advancement.

Employees enjoy perks like 30% food discounts, access to 24/7 telemedicine services for employees and their families, a lucrative 401K plan, and predictable schedules to help with work-life balance. Additionally, benefits include paid meals during shifts, same-day pay options, direct deposit, monthly bonus opportunities, paid vacation and time off for qualifying employees, and special recognition of birthdays and anniversaries.

Working as a Maintenance Crew Member at McDonald’s franchise means becoming part of a team that prioritizes safety, quality, and ongoing development. It provides a stable and rewarding environment with a clear pathway to advancement within the company. While the role does require physical effort and consistency in task completion, employees gain valuable skills and access to educational resources that support both present and future career goals.
