The Maintenance Supervisor role at Nestle USA is critical in ensuring the efficient operation of the factory by overseeing maintenance activities involving production equipment, utility services, boilers, compressed air, electrical systems, and building maintenance. The supervisor plays a leading role in advancing a proactive preventative maintenance program aimed at minimizing downtime and ensuring safety and compliance with regulations. This position is designated for the night shift, working on a 2-2-3, 12-hour schedule from 6:00 pm to 6:30 am. The Maintenance Supervisor’s responsibilities include coaching and developing the maintenance and operations teams, guiding continuous improvement efforts following Nestle Continuous Excellence (NCE) principles and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) methodologies. They are tasked with monitoring technical stoppages, reviewing critical lines and processes, and proposing key performance indicators aligned with Best Maintenance Practices. The role also involves ensuring work orders are executed timely with high-quality workmanship, maintaining accurate documentation including root cause analysis, and collaborating with a range of internal and external partners like corporate engineers and suppliers. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential to share best practices across factories and to drive sustainable value-added improvements. The position reflects Nestle’s focus on fostering a culture of excellence with zero loss and continuous improvement, supporting team development and skills advancement in a dynamic manufacturing environment. This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Job Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in manufacturing, technical, military, or related environment
  • HS diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred
  • 2+ years of leadership experience in manufacturing, technical, military, or related environment
  • Willingness to work extended days, weekends, and flexible shifts
  • Ability to work in ambient conditions that may be cold, wet, or warm
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Good organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • Knowledge of CMMS software
  • Able to follow safety and regulatory compliance
  • Must work night shift schedule of 6:00 pm to 6:30 am on a 2-2-3, 12-hour shift basis

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in engineering fields such as mechanical, electrical, process, or reliability
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in manufacturing, technical, military, or related environments
  • At least 2 years of leadership experience in similar environments
  • Strong leadership skills with ability to motivate and develop others
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficient interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
  • Adaptability to changing demands
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of CMMS systems such as SAP or Maximo, with ability to analyze data for trends and reports

Job Duties

  • Guide factory to reduce technical stoppages in equipment or common areas of occurrence
  • Ensure systematic review of critical lines, processes, and utilities affecting safety and compliance
  • Monitor equipment trends to optimize operation and reduce downtime
  • Propose and monitor key performance indicators aligned with best maintenance practices
  • Facilitate improvements to minimize planned and unplanned downtime such as preventive maintenance and changeovers
  • Ensure implementation of repairs and modifications from gap assessments
  • Oversee the execution of work orders with high-quality workmanship
  • Ensure accurate planning of jobs, materials, and services
  • Complete equipment history, damage codes, and root cause analyses correctly
  • Evaluate team performance and provide feedback for development
  • Provide training and support upskilling of technicians
  • Share maintenance best practices across factories
  • Collaborate with engineers, suppliers, contractors, and partners to meet customer needs
  • Conduct regular factory inspections to identify potential problems and gather operator feedback
  • Drive sustainable improvements with group engineering specialists and managers
  • Coordinate with technical stores and planners on scheduling, labor allocation, and bill of materials
  • Ensure compliance with Nestle and government regulatory requirements
