Maintenance Supervisor

The Technical Maintenance Supervisor role at the Hostess Manufacturing Plant offers an exciting opportunity for experienced maintenance professionals who are eager to lead, mentor, and develop a technical team. In this 100% on-site position, working a PM 10-hour shift with flexibility for night, weekend, or holiday shifts, you will oversee the upkeep of existing equipment and the installation of new machinery. This role is pivotal in partnering closely with plant operations to plan and execute maintenance activities that improve quality, productivity, and reduce downtime and defects. As a supervisor, you will champion a strong culture of safety, compliance with lockout/tagout (LOTO) and good manufacturing practices (GMP), and uphold the company’s values and culture.

Your leadership will be essential in guiding a group of hourly maintenance employees, enhancing their mechanical and technical skills across various maintenance disciplines, including facility upkeep and troubleshooting. You will be responsible for developing and executing predictive and preventive maintenance (PM) programs, directing technical resources, and ensuring all department equipment has proper documentation and spare parts available. You will also aid in building advanced technical proficiency among technicians and provide expert technical guidance within the department.

Additionally, you will collaborate with area leaders, engineers, and coordinators to devise work plans that maximize sanitation and startup efficiency. You will oversee administrative tasks such as timekeeping, attendance tracking, and payroll approvals while ensuring all activities comply with company policies and quality standards, including SOPs, GMPs, and BRC requirements. This role requires a problem-solving mindset and the ability to analyze root causes of equipment issues to support operations effectively.

Successful candidates will bring at least 3 years of relevant supervisory experience, strong technical and mechanical abilities, proficiency in PLC and HMI troubleshooting and programming, and prior manufacturing experience, preferably in a food production environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and effective communication skills in English are essential. Additional preferred qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in engineering and project management experience.
