The Maintenance Supervisor at Nestle USA carries a vital responsibility in ensuring the seamless operation of the plant machinery and equipment that are central to production lines. This role involves overseeing all maintenance activities, ensuring both preventive and corrective maintenance actions are executed efficiently to minimize downtime and optimize asset performance. The Maintenance Supervisor leads a team of maintenance professionals, mentoring and training them on loss elimination, risk management, and asset lifecycle management using Nestle's Continuous Excellence (NCE) methodology. This role is closely connected with the overall strategic approach known as Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), which promotes continuous improvement and zero loss culture. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-3 years of experience in manufacturing maintenance
  • Proven leadership or supervisory experience preferred
  • Familiarity with TPM and predictive maintenance technologies
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency in CMMS and data analysis tools
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Commitment to safety and regulatory compliance
  • Physical ability to conduct plant inspections and support maintenance activities

Job Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment and knowledge of production equipment maintenance
  • Direct experience in management of mechanics for equipment maintenance, preferred
  • Some knowledge of utilities and facility equipment, preferred
  • Strong technical and leadership skills with ability to lead, motivate, and develop others
  • Knowledge of TPM and PM Pillar Tools including Breakdown Analysis
  • Reliability Center Maintenance Practices
  • PM Optimization and Predictive Maintenance Technologies including infrared, ultrasonic, vibration analysis
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements for food safety
  • Proficient in computer programs such as Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge and understanding of the cost drivers of maintenance in manufacturing operations
  • Good working knowledge of CMMS systems such as SAP and Maximo with ability to analyze data for trends and reports

Job Duties

  • Guide the factory to reduce technical stoppages in equipment or areas of common occurrence
  • Ensure detailed review of all line, processes, and utilities essential to the business
  • Monitor plant and equipment trends to ensure highest operation and reduce downtime
  • Propose and monitor key performance indicators according to Best Maintenance Practices
  • Facilitate maintenance activities evolution to minimize planned and unplanned downtime
  • Maintain processing and packaging equipment to grow reliability and availability
  • Implement repairs and modifications from assessments and audits on time with high quality workmanship
  • Own job planning and validate material and service planning for accuracy and efficiency
  • Lead documentation for equipment history and root cause analysis
  • Develop and lead a network of Factory Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in the NCE Reliability program
  • Evaluate team member performance and provide periodic feedback
  • Share maintenance-related standard methodologies across Nestle factories
  • Collaborate with corporate engineers, suppliers, contractors, and plant partners
  • Encourage close partnership among functions like Engineering, Production, and Quality Management
  • Conduct regular plant inspections and solicit operator feedback
  • Consolidate and analyze factory Maintenance and Repair budgets
  • Manage technical stores, scheduled Work Orders, labor hour allocation and equipment Bill of Material
  • Support rollout and sustainability of TPM-PM Pillar across Nestle USA and Canada factories
  • Ensure compliance with government regulatory agencies
