Job Requirements
- high school education or equivalent experience
- one to two years of related employment in a similar position
- working knowledge of housekeeping and hotel services
- ability to communicate hotel services and policies to management, staff, and guests
- experience in building maintenance
- plumbing and electrical operation skills
- leadership and supervisory experience
- ability to handle scheduling and payroll
- knowledge of life and safety systems
- capability to manage purchasing and inventory
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent
- one to two years of engineering or maintenance experience in hospitality or related fields
- strong knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems
- familiarity with hotel operations
- good communication and interpersonal skills
- leadership capabilities
- ability to manage teams and oversee projects
- proficiency in energy conservation practices
- experience with safety systems management
Job Duties
- supervise engineering staff
- perform administrative duties
- perform basic Class III Engineer responsibilities and special Class I, II duties
- maintain building systems and repairs
- demonstrate handyman skills including wall painting
- manage plumbing and electrical operations
- assist director in staff supervision including hiring and training
- schedule and prepare payroll
- coach and counsel staff
- assign and monitor work orders
- manage energy conservation efforts
- oversee life and safety systems including fire, elevator, emergency lighting, and generators
- maintain motors and control circuits
- handle trash removal and recycling
- purchase and maintain equipment and supplies
- maintain hotel audio systems
- perform Class II or III Engineer duties as needed
- participate in hotel committees and special projects
