Their innovative approach enables checkout-free parking experiences, allowing customers to simply "drive in and drive out" without the hassle of tickets, machines, apps, or credit cards. This forward-thinking ethos positions SP Plus not only as a parking services provider but also as a pioneer in transforming everyday mobility and convenience through intelligent technology solutions.
At SP Plus, the commitment to reinventing parking reflects a broader vision of enhancing everyday life by saving valuable time and improving customer experiences in living, working, and recreational environments. Joining SP Plus means becoming part of a vast network where mobility solutions intersect with cutting-edge technology to deliver seamless, efficient, and reliable services that impact millions of users.
The Facility Maintenance Technician role at SP Plus is a vital position that ensures the operational integrity, safety, and cleanliness of parking facilities. This role involves performing a broad range of maintenance duties including cleaning, equipment service, and general facility upkeep. The technician will undertake maintenance tasks such as sweeping, mopping, painting, light repairs, replacing bulbs, and applying oil absorbents to spills, contributing to a safe and welcoming environment for customers and employees alike.
Customer interaction is a key aspect of this position. The technician acts as a frontline representative by assisting customers, resolving complaints, and practicing SP Plus’s core principles of customer satisfaction. In addition to general housekeeping, the role requires vigilance in conducting regular facility inspections to identify and address maintenance issues promptly. The ability to operate maintenance machinery like sweepers, scrubbers, snow blowers, and lawn care equipment is also essential.
Candidates should be prepared to work varied shifts including potentially 3rd shifts and weekends to accommodate location-specific needs. The position offers an hourly wage of $19.50, reflecting the importance SP Plus places on attracting skilled personnel capable of performing diverse and dynamic tasks independently. A valid state-issued driver’s license may be required for some assignments involving company vehicle operation.
The role demands strong physical capability, including the ability to lift heavy objects up to 50 pounds, work in various weather conditions, and sustain long periods of physical activity such as standing, walking, and climbing. Communication skills are crucial as the position involves clear interaction with customers and colleagues, requiring both oral and written proficiency.
SP Plus provides a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision coverage, flexible spending accounts, disability plans, life and accident insurance, 401(k) retirement plans, and paid time off, emphasizing its commitment to employee well-being and growth. Moreover, SP Plus is an equal opportunity employer dedicated to fostering an inclusive environment that respects diversity and complies with all federal and state equal employment opportunity laws.
Joining SP Plus as a Facility Maintenance Technician means contributing to a company at the forefront of innovation in mobility solutions, while playing a critical role in upholding facility standards and delivering exceptional customer service in the parking industry.
