The role available is for a Maintenance Porter, a vital position responsible for maintaining the overall appearance and cleanliness of the community, both inside and out. This role plays a key support function in assisting the maintenance technician team by diagnosing maintenance issues and helping execute needed repairs to ensure that the community consistently offers a world-class living environment. The Maintenance Porter works closely with residents and other team members, contributing to high resident satisfaction through responsive and professional interactions. The position offers a structured work schedule from Monday to Friday with specific hours on different days, providing a balanced and predictable routine.

In this role, the Maintenance Porter focuses on maintaining the exterior grounds, common areas, and stair towers by cleaning, raking, and collecting debris. They ensure the safety and cleanliness of all community spaces by removing snow, applying salt during inclement weather, and making sure that all exterior steps are safe and secure. Additionally, they prepare vacant units for new residents, performing necessary clean-out tasks to facilitate smooth occupancy transitions. Inspections of building exteriors and lighting are carried out daily, with any issues promptly reported to maintenance supervisors to guarantee timely repairs.

An important part of the job also includes learning about and supporting general maintenance tasks involving HVAC, mechanical, electrical, utilities, and lighting systems. This includes conducting inspections and assisting with repairs, contributing to the overall upkeep of the property. The successful candidate must also ensure strict compliance with all company safety and environmental policies, maintaining a safe community environment for everyone.

  • Minimum of 1 year of groundskeeping or maintenance experience
  • Knowledge of basic tools and general maintenance processes

Job Duties

  • Cleaning, raking, and collecting debris from community grounds, breezeways and common areas
  • Keeping all stair towers clean and free of waste
  • Ensuring all exterior steps have treads and are safe
  • Removing snow and applying salt in inclement weather
  • Preparing vacant units for occupancy, including any necessary clean-out tasks
  • Performing daily inspections of building exteriors and lighting
  • reporting any required repairs or issues to the maintenance supervisor in a timely manner
  • Delivering the highest level of resident satisfaction through responsive, consistent, positive and professional interactions
  • Learn and provide maintenance support for general maintenance and orderliness of property HVA, mechanical, electrical, utilities and lighting systems, including inspections and repairs
  • Ensuring the successful execution of all company safety and environmental policies and procedures
