The Maintenance Porter role at Universal Parking is integral to the daily functionality and upkeep of the parking facilities. This full-time position requires a dedicated professional to perform maintenance, repair gate and parking equipment, and maintain the cleanliness and safety of the parking decks. The Maintenance Porter supports multiple properties; therefore, the ability to travel between locations within a short distance is essential. The position operates on a 40-hour schedule, Thursday through Monday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with Tuesdays and Wednesdays off. This scheduling helps maintain consistent facility standards and addresses any issues promptly.

Maintenance tasks include general repair of gate equipment, such as handling broken gates and equipment resets, routine inspection of parking machines, and upkeep of parking deck areas. Painting traffic lines and operating garage sweeping equipment are also key responsibilities to ensure safe and clean facilities. While previous mechanical knowledge is preferred, Universal Parking offers comprehensive training on all specific equipment used at each location. This includes scan-to-pay systems, ticket dispensers, access control systems, and more.

Besides maintenance, the Maintenance Porter plays a significant customer service role, providing courteous assistance, answering parking-related inquiries, and explaining facility procedures to customers. The position involves tasks like issuing parking violations, applying immobilization devices when necessary, cleaning trash receptacles, and maintaining elevator areas.
