Novolex is currently seeking to hire a Maintenance Planner & PSM (Process Safety Management) Coordinator at its facility in Greensboro, North Carolina. This full-time role offers competitive compensation ranging from $29.45 to $44.03 per hour, dependent on the candidate's experience. The position operates on a standard 8-hour shift from Monday to Friday, specifically between 7:00 AM and 3:30 PM, providing a structured work schedule that supports work-life balance.

The Maintenance Planner & PSM Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring operational efficiency by managing maintenance planning and kitting processes while acting as the coordinator for PSM programs that support production and packaging equipment. This combined responsibility requires meticulous oversight of equipment maintenance schedules, parts availability, and safety documentation to minimize downtime and optimize maintenance costs. The role demands collaboration with cross-functional teams, including maintenance, production, engineering, and outside contractors, ensuring all maintenance activities are performed with safety and compliance at the forefront. A key component of this position is leveraging CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to manage work orders, asset hierarchies, and preventative maintenance schedules, thus maximizing equipment uptime and reducing the risk of failures.

In addition to maintenance planning, the PSM Coordinator aspect of the role focuses on maintaining and updating critical Process Safety Management elements such as Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), Management of Change (MOC), and Mechanical Integrity programs. The coordinator ensures that all safety documentation, records, and procedures are accurately maintained within CMMS, supporting compliance audits and facilitating continuous safety improvements. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, for data analysis and reporting. Candidates with experience in CMMS platforms like Maintenance Connection, MP2, or Maximo, and familiarity with SAP systems are highly preferred.

Job Qualifications

High school graduate or equivalent
3+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, particularly in packaging equipment or related systems such as electromechanical systems, hydraulic systems, and process water systems
Experience with CMMS systems such as Maintenance Connection, MP2, Maximo, or similar systems is preferred
Familiarity with SAP systems is preferred
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including experience with functions like VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, and Conditional Formatting
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate across departments, including contractors, vendors, and senior management
Self-motivated, proactive, and able to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision
Experience reading and interpreting mechanical drawings is preferred
Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds and work in a moderately conditioned industrial manufacturing environment

Job Duties

Monitor and enforce compliance with plant safety policies, ensuring proper equipment maintenance and safe practices
Ensure the correct safety documentation is utilized, in accordance with company policies
Own and manage the CMMS asset hierarchy and preventative maintenance schedules for all facilities, production lines, and support equipment, including packaging systems, material handling, and automation equipment
Oversee daily CMMS work order management, including assignment to available maintenance personnel, reviewing work completion, and ensuring timely closure of work orders
Collaborate with maintenance, production, and engineering teams to plan, schedule, and execute planned maintenance work, with the goal of maximizing equipment uptime while minimizing costs
Package planned work orders into parts kits and ensure availability of required materials before work begins, in coordination with the storeroom team
Accurately estimate labor, materials, and equipment costs for all planned maintenance activities
Assist in CMMS planning and execution for capital projects and plant upgrades
Lead weekly maintenance scheduling meetings with engineering, maintenance, and production teams to ensure work is properly prioritized and resources are allocated effectively
Utilize MTBF and root cause analysis methods to drive continuous improvement and eliminate equipment failures
Serve as the backup for MRO Stockroom Clerk
Coordinate service with outside contractors to include verifying job completion
Maintain and update PSM program elements (PHA, MOC, Mechanical Integrity, etc.)
Support Management of Change (MOC) processes and documentation
Maintain accurate safety documentation, procedures, and records in CMMS System
Support compliance audits through CMMS records
Support digital tools or systems for PSM tracking and reporting
