Packaging Corporation of America (PCA) is a Fortune 500 company recognized as an ideas and solutions leader in the packaging industry. PCA specializes in corrugated packaging and white paper products, serving both large and small customers across a diverse range of industries. With approximately 15,000 team members located in more than 100 locations throughout the United States, PCA is dedicated to meeting the unique, local needs of its customers while maintaining a steadfast commitment to environmental responsibility and operational excellence. The company’s mission centers on delivering products and services that not only meet but exceed customer expectations in performance and sustainability. As an industry leader, PCA emphasizes innovation, quality, and customer service as key drivers for success and growth, continually advancing its technology and processes to stay at the forefront of the packaging sector.

The Maintenance Planner role at PCA is a pivotal position responsible for planning and scheduling maintenance activities to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of plant equipment and workforce utilization. This position demands a high level of coordination with various departments, including Customer Service, Scheduling, Production, and Environmental, Health and Safety teams, to minimize downtime and maximize productivity. The Maintenance Planner oversees a broad range of maintenance tasks including preventative maintenance programs, annual outages, regulatory inspections, and unscheduled repairs. Effective maintenance planning at PCA means accurately estimating, coordinating, and scheduling the necessary resources such as personnel, parts, and equipment to meet production and safety goals.

This role is critical to achieving operational excellence by using tools like Business Process Management Software (BPMS) for work order management, maintaining detailed and accurate documentation, and ensuring compliance with all relevant safety and environmental regulations. The Maintenance Planner also takes leadership responsibilities, working alongside the Maintenance Supervisor to manage vendor relationships, monitor maintenance backlogs, facilitate meetings, and oversee staff activities. The position requires the exercise of discretion and creativity in decision-making, balancing maintenance priorities with production demands, while also fostering a safe, injury-free work environment. This job offers a competitive starting salary range from $86,240 to $129,360 annually and includes annual bonuses based on individual contribution and company performance, three weeks of paid vacation, paid holidays, comprehensive medical, dental and vision insurance, life and disability coverage, and a 401(k) plan with employer matching. PCA is committed to diversity and equal opportunity in its hiring practices and welcomes qualified applicants to apply through their official careers website.
